MORTARS IN MATTOON: Mattoon's Annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration! is happening on FRIDAY July 3rd, 2026 at Mattoon's South Ball Diamond - Intersection of 4th St. & Railroad Ave. with festivities starting at 6pm! This is an event put on by the Mattoon 4th of July Fireworks Committee, that is FREE and open to the public!
Fireworks start at Dusk! Kicked off by a special tribute to veterans put on in association with Mattoon's John Owens American Legion Post #287!
Music by Bruno & Burnz starting at 6pm
Concessions available for purchase: Brats, Burgers, Candy, Chips, Beer, Soda, Water and more!
A 50/50 will be held with proceeds to help with the cost of the fireworks.
The Annual 4th of July $1,000 cash top prize raffle will be drawn at the ball diamond at 8pm on Sunday July 6th. $50 a ticket with only 100 tickets sold. 1st Place - $1,000 CASH! 9 other CASH winners from $100-$500.
