So intriguing to me how botanicals brighten or dull after the cooking process, it’s what keeps my curiosity in this flower food biz ablaze 🔥 This recipe is inspired by .house.spice recipe, which is the best one I’ve found yet 🌟 To get the flowers to stick to the dough before steaming, simply dab them with water before adhering to the dough. I served these pillowy breads with basil eggplant and saucy mushrooms 🍄

Hello!!! There are some new followers on here and I just wanted to say hi! 🌻My name is Loria and I’m a self taught chef + baker located in Los Angeles, CA. I moved here in 2020 just 2 weeks before the pandemic began. I grew up in and have always been a nature girl. I started cooking with flowers + botanicals back in 2010 when I was working as a pastry chef at a fancy hotel and enrolled in an edible + medicinal plant class🌾 Since then I’ve worked at a number of different professional kitchens, privately cooked for many different families + individuals, and most excitingly, began a food business where I now employ a team of 6 other hardworking individuals. We ship flower cookies nationally and cater private events. This year, we may be opening up a brick and mortar in East Los Angeles ✨ I’m also in the process of writing a cookbook which I cannot wait to share with you! It will be available spring 2023 🌟 The book will feature some of my favorite recipes, inspired by herself and [email protected] everything I’ve learned about edible flowers. The in me can go on and on but I’ll stop right here and just say, thank you for following along this journey! has been a great place for me to show my art, help grow my business, create community, and connect with you all. 💐Happy New Year💐

Top nine of 2021! Wow what a year that was. One of the more challenging— fulfilling the most cookie orders of all time, introducing new products (chocolate bars! pies!), figuring out how to ship frozen products, debuting on national tv (thank you ), opening my first retail pop up shop, tripling my team of qt bakers, making more sweetheart friends, getting more serious with my bae 🥰, picking up several more wholesale accounts (hey ), learning to deal with Instagram bullies (mean comments and fallacious posts), navigating a world with ideas that are constantly changing, and all the while trying to maintain some sense of balance through it all. Thank you sweet friends for following along my 💐 adventures baking + cooking! This year I am working on a cookbook and over the moon excited to share it with you. All of your likes, comments, kindness (and treats orders!) have been so uplifting during another year of bizarre times. This community keeps me inspired, makes me smile, and fills me with joy, curiosity, and creative inspiration. Love you all + cheers to a peaceful and joyous 2022🌷

🌻Today is and here are some of my fav botanical cookies from over the years 🌿 I’ve been studying the history of cookies since starting my little baking co. According to my research, the first historic record of was their use as test cakes.  A small amount of cake batter was baked to test the oven temperature and here, the original was born. The earliest cookie-style cakes are thought to date back to 7th century Persia A.D. (now Iran), one of the first countries to cultivate sugar. Every culture has their own name and style of the beloved cookie. Here in the United States, cookie recipes were a reflection of cultural + geographic developments. For example, the railroad’s expansion in the early 1800s gave cooks access to coconuts from the South so more coconut based cookie recipes were developed.  Later in the century, oranges from the West were introduced into many recipes.  Around the turn of the century, the Kellogg brothers in Michigan invented cornflakes and cookies were made with cereal products.  In the 1930s, with the advent of electric refrigerators, icebox cookies reached new heights of popularity.  Today there are hundreds upon hundreds of cookie recipes in the United States from creative chefs of all cultures.
