✨Save Space✨
Put down whatever it is you’re working on. It’s Sunday evening. It can wait till tomorrow morning. Spend time with family, partners, or just have some me time if possible.
This is just as much of a note to myself as it is to you. I see my pile of work I can be doing, but *deep breath* it can be done tomorrow.

✨Vacation✨
Who here has felt guilt or shame when you request PTO /or time off?
Who here has experienced positive punishment when it comes to taking time off?
I remember I used to feel SO bad to take time off as an RBT. I know we always want consistency for our clients; however, it is just as important to take time off to recharge and reset! It might be uncomfortable initially, but just take that Friday or Monday off OR BOTH.
Especially if you are experiencing stress, anxiety, etc.
it does not need to be a LAVISH vacay. It can honestly be a staycation in your own home!
In saying that, I have booked some time off for myself and Alex & I am PUMPED!

✨My partner✨
Alex and I have been together for over 2 years (3 in September). We were in a LDR (long distance relationship) for over a year. We met in HS, we’re good good friends, never dated, kissed once! 😙 Lost contact for seven years, and reconnected. He’s been my only partner that I can say I’ve known for 10+ years. How much I’ve seen him grow from a freshman in HS to a man today has been really incredible. Going through this quarantine together has been challenging, but also GREAT. We went from spending only a week together TOPS, to now now spending 24/7/365. 😬

The transition from HI to CA has been beautiful and hard all at the same time.

Talk about MOs changing from one moment to the next, man! We were deprived for so long and now...well lol you know the rest (satiated) 😆

This past year he has really taught me how to push myself and to show patience. I still need to work on the patience part (according to him)! 🙃 But I’m down! I want to keep growing and learning!

✨Diversity✨
As a Latina in the field I am very proud to be just a small part of the diverse community in this field!
I didn’t know how important it was to have diverse leaders in the space until I became a supervisor.
I know it seems a little too late to plot those points together, but after noticing a lot of my locals are part of the minority, I put two and two together, “oh maybe minorities are craving diverse leaders in the space?” 🤷🏽‍♀️
I would have loved to hear about ABA in high school or at my JC. I honestly didn’t even hear about ABA until I completed my undergrad in speech language pathology and decided I never wanted to look at another vocal mechanism again!
Long story short, if you are part of the minority % who is still in undergrad, keep pushing we need you!
If you are part of the minority % who is still pursuing your masters, you’re almost there!! Keep pushing we need you!
If you are part of the majority % and pursuing your career in ABA keep raising minority voices we need you too!
