Calling all Los Angeles bakers!

The Cast Your Bread South team is uniting L.A. bakers south of the 10 freeway all the way to Long Beach for a biweekly community bake to help people in need.
Please join us.
Just bake your bread, drop it off at a central location, we take care of the rest. Loaves will become part of grocery bag giveaways to people struggling during this tough time. More details to come as this small but mighty team organizes an expansion of the wonderful work being done at to the west and north. All bakes welcome. No run is too small. When a lot of people each do a little, great things happen. Please follow us and share. More details to come as we prepare for our first bake of 200 loaves July 3 and 4. Mark your calendars. This isn't a post about bread. This is an acknowledgement that there is a problem. The last few days have caused a lot of discomfort, anger, and energy against injustices that is all too common against POC. In your area, you may find many people protesting, please support those who are making a strong effort to keep it peaceful. Support those who are trying to keep themselves safe and others safe from looters, rioters, and armed police. And donate. Support the organizations who are directly supporting this movement and its Frontline.

What does this mean for you? Well, if you have flour at home, but no means, experience, or time to make bread, then I can make this bread for you! Read through the instructions in these images to learn more, and when you're ready, send me a DM so we can set up a time.
If you don't have any flour on hand, don't worry. has generously donated grains for bakers who are making bread to support their community. Their whole wheat will also boost any flour that you might have to add nutrition and flavor.

Before you get cabin fever, or panic because there's no pan at the store, remember that you are more than capable of making your own bread!
Feed your starter, or if you need one, let me know and we can plan a pick up. Get flour from your local farmers or shops (like ) and show your support.
Once we are out of the social-distancing mode, and you're still feeling adventurous about bread, schedule a flour session so you're ready for the next bread-shortage 😜🍞💪
