This right here is what can happen when you have a very strong starter and know when to use it 💜

Starters all have their own personality, and no two act exactly the same. That’s why it’s so important to really get to know your starter… how it rises, how it looks, how it feels, when it’s ready, and when it likes to surprise you lol.

A strong starter can make a big difference, but knowing when to catch it and use it is just as important.

That’s one of the things with sourdough people don’t always see. It’s not just throwing ingredients together and hoping for the best. You have to learn your starter, pay attention, and work with it instead of against it.

These little heifers like to keep us on our toes, that’s for sure 💜

Tomorrow I’ll be giving out FREE samples of the sourdough Danish pastries I’m working on today. 💜

Y’all know I don’t do anything small, but I’m making a smaller sample size so people can try them before I officially add them to the menu.

These are sourdough Danish pastries with cream cheese custard, fruit filling, crumble, and a drizzle to finish them off.

Sourdough is a lot of work, a lot of patience, and sometimes a whole lot of “why did I do this to myself?” 😂 But I love creating new things, and I love it even more when people enjoy what they get.

If you want to try one tomorrow, keep an eye out because samples will be limited.

I don’t do anything small… apparently not even my “test bakes.” 😂

It is officially 2 AM and I am just now calling it a night. I’ve been at it since I woke up, and tonight’s project was a jumbo Sourdough Salted Caramel Apple Cheesecake Crumble Danish.

And when I say jumbo… I mean 9+ ounces of sourdough, cream cheese custard, apple pie filling, buttery crumble, and homemade salted caramel.

People may question prices sometimes, but what they don’t always see is the time, the work, the proofing, the waiting, the testing, the remaking, the mess, and the love that goes into every single thing I make.

Sourdough isn’t for everyone. It takes patience, stubbornness, and a little bit of insanity. Good thing I have all three. 😂

But I love it. I love the challenge, I love learning, and I love it even more when people truly enjoy what they get.

So yes, I’m tired. Yes, my kitchen is probably judging me. And yes, these are absolutely worth it. 💜

Well… I finally did it. 🤣

My first time ever working with royal icing, and let me tell you — she is a whole attitude of her own.

I’ve always said I’m not scared to try new things, even if I have to mess up, adjust, redo, and figure it out as I go. That’s how I learn. That’s how I grow.

These Key Lime Pie Sourdough Sugar Cookies were definitely a challenge, but they were also fun. Sourdough key lime cookie, key lime royal icing, graham cracker “crust,” and a little whipped cream swirl on top.

Are they perfect? Nope.

Am I proud of them? Absolutely.

I’m always trying to push myself, learn something new, and bring y’all something different — because basic has never really been my thing. 🤣

Can I ask y’all something honestly? 💜

As my orders have slowed down a little lately, my mind automatically starts overthinking everything — because that’s just who I am 😂

So I genuinely want to know…

Has everyone been happy with their goodies from Dana’s Krafty Kreations?

Because I truly care about what leaves my kitchen. Every loaf, every cinnamon roll, every cookie, every order gets my time, effort, lack of sleep, stress, love, and probably a few conversations with myself while baking 😂

I’m not perfect, and there may come a day something doesn’t turn out exactly how I wanted — because I’m human. But I will ALWAYS make it right and learn from it.

So if there has ever been an issue, concern, suggestion, or something you think I could improve on… please tell ME. I can handle honesty. That’s how people grow.

At the end of the day, I’m still learning, still building, still pushing myself, and still trying to create things people truly enjoy.

And for every single person who has supported me, ordered from me, shared my posts, hyped me up, or believed in me… thank you. More than y’all probably realize 💜
