IV Kitchen

IV Kitchen I am a local Lilburn baker whipping up sweet delights every weekend at the Main Street Market. Each weekend I wake up in the early morning to bake all sorts of delicious treats so they have time to cool before I bring them down to Main Street Market in Lilburn.

My favorite ingredients right now are caramel and butterscotch, and baklava is my favorite item to make. I use no preservatives so most "cake-like" things are best eaten within 48 hours of when they are made - I put a date on the front so you know you're getting it fresh. I use real butter, local pecans and honey, and prefer organic when available. Best of all, 100% of my profits will be used to p

I'd like to thank all the people who are visiting and liking this page...it's been awhile since I baked commercially, but I'm always interested in opportunities to put my culinary skills to use for the benefit of non-profits. I've been busy traveling to California and working on Cushing's advocacy, but here we are with a little holiday and so IV Kitchen is turning out some limited edition treats! Orders being taken in store and via e-mail (or private Facebook message) for heart tarts, milk chocolate covered strawberries, red velvet cupcakes or cake, and fresh strawberry cupcakes or cake.

November's profit to the Lilburn Co-Op totaled just over $53. I found a great stash of slightly dented items for major % off, then when I asked the Co-Op what they needed most the week before Christmas, they said they were completely out of shampoo and dish soap. I would normally only use the money for food but December is probably the one month where food stays on the shelves a little longer for them...

Recall the early summer days of blueberry orchards, eating berries by the fistful and staining your finger whorls purple. Today in the market we have a small run of blueberry tarts. Get them while they're there! And don't forget to slough off all your holiday baking needs on IV Kitchen - quality, fresh ingredients made locally in support of feeding families through the Lilburn Co-Op.

Thank you, Lilburn, for helping me donate about $85 worth of food to the Lilburn Co-Op for the month of October. There's nothing new in the store this weekend, but I am usually available to bake just about anything you might need for your holiday parties, family meals, etc. for the actual cost of the ingredients plus whatever donation amount you choose for the Co-Op.

I have to leave the kitchen. I found the recipe to end all pie crust recipes and cannot stop eating the scraps (baked with some cinnamon sugar). These apricot tarts are so simple and crazy addictive at the same time. Flaky. Buttery. I need some milk. Such a shame that only 10 are making their way to Main Street Market for sampling today.

Second batch of sampling - woe is the baker with the best intentions of a cute town of gingerbread houses, dusted with snowy sugar. In my head, it is gorgeous. In reality, this silicone mold and my expectations were completely out of line. Oh well. The post-Godzilla houses are still delicious! The second portion of batter is currently baking in obedient loaf pans. Come to Main Street Market later today and maybe tomorrow for a free sample of these moist little cakes abundant with rich molasses, ginger three ways (fresh, powder, and crystallized), and espresso.

Happy Halloween! This weekend we're going light on the goods at Main Street Market because we figure everyone is already going to have several pounds of sweets sitting around the house. However, if you get there in time, we are putting out a limited run of butterscotch blondies. These are rich, moist, and overflowing with the aroma of homemade butterscotch - the only other ingredient besides flour and eggs.
