I couldn’t let the day go by without acknowledging National Pi Day!

While the original National Pi Day was intended for the mathematical constant pi, abbreviated as 3.14, we also like to also use it for celebrating pie! Haha
So with that, Happy National Pi (Pie) day!
Hopefully you had a minute to enjoy a big slice today!

Yellow is the color of sunshine, happiness, optimism, and creativity — the most luminous color in the spectrum.

I think we could all use a little more yellow this time of year.

I love experimenting with new recipes, and these two cookies were recent winners.

✨ Pistachio & Dark Chocolate Chip — made with crushed pistachios and pistachio cream, topped with flaky sea salt
✨ Chocolate Chip, M&M & Pecan

My kids and friends taste-tested both… and while they were each a hit, the pistachio cookie was the clear favorite!
As you know, my kids are not local, so yes they were shipped and they held up during shipping time.

An oldie but goodie. I’ve been making this cake for about 30 years or so.
Dark chocolate cake, chocolate ganache frosting, chocolate dipped strawberries.
I have several combinations of this, adding chocolate buttercream, chocolate mousse, etc. I used to call it death by chocolate 🍫.

Hello everyone! Happy Super Bowl Sunday and Happy early Valentines Day!
Since many have asked, I thought I should make a post. I will, unfortunately, not be offering my normal Valentines Day treats menu. I am out of town for my other job for a conference this week. While I am scheduled to fly home on Friday, the day prior- I would hate to have flight delays and put you in a bind without goodies for your loved ones!

My apologies for any inconveniences as I realize many reach out a few days prior also.

Thirty looks pretty sweet 💙✨

I made this cake to celebrate a 30th birthday! Three layers of zesty lemon cake paired with vanilla buttercream, bringing the perfect balance of citrus and classic sweetness. The cake is decorated in turquoise buttercream with elegant ruffles, scalloped piping, and pastel florals, with a few soft pearl accents.

The gold “30” topper makes it clear this is a milestone worth celebrating. Light, cheerful, and a little bit magical, just like turning 30 should be 🍋🦋🎂.

Do you like these style of design? This is called lambeth. It beings me joy because my Mom used to make these, when she was a cake decorator many years ago!
