Bill Hurley for School Committee
Depth and Breadth of Experience
As a current School Committee Member, former superintendent in Lexington and other communities, Bill offered qualified insight in the appointment process for our new Superintendent. Equally important is his hope to be reelected in March so that he can help the new superintendent be successful through goal setting and evaluation. Hi
s 35+ years of first hand knowledge in Education, coupled with nine years as a member of Lexington’s Capital Expenditure Committee, make him uniquely qualified to deal with the issues that our School Committee will be facing in the next 3-5 years. As a committee member, Bill provides experiential support as they prepare the 2015-16 budget, complete the policy manual review process and seek to improve social-emotional supports for all students. Vested in Lexington’s Success
"I am running because I want to give back to the Community that has given me so much in the almost 40 years I have lived here. The best way for me to do that is to share my professional experience and passion for improving public education." Partner
Bill has worked successfully with dozens of neighboring school committees in his career, and Bill is working collaboratively with this Committee and all its constituent groups to continue improving our school system. In addition, he brings the reflections and insight of a parent whose two children benefited from 13 years in Lexington schools. Bill Hurley, candidate for School Committee, invites the public to attend open coffees to both meet and learn more about his qualifications and views on the issues the School Committee will face over the next several years.
