Went and walked around our garden and nursery snapping pictures of all the color and flowers springing back for one last hooray of the season. I love the cool mornings and the soft dew on the petals. Something sweet and romantic about it.

Just a reminder we will be open on Friday 9am-4pm featuring our *FLASH FALL SALE* and CLOSED to celebrate my birthday with my family from out of town on Saturday.

Fall is really the best time to get shrubs, perennials, and trees in the ground. Cooler temps, still plenty of chances for rain, and time for roots to grow before going dormant for winter.

Here is one of our own Eucalyptus Silver Dollar we planted yesterday. The first photo was from April until now.

I don't recommend growing in the ground unless you have enough space and time to prune as it can grow incredibly large. Here in our zone it won't reach it's full potential as it would in a warmer climate but it can still quickly outgrow a smaller garden if left unchecked.
As you can see by the size with just growing in a pot over the summer!!

However, if you want a plant that smells amazing, is an evergreen, has practical uses, and to me looks rather whimsical (which is the goal for this section of our garden) then this could be something to consider.

Just make sure you do your own research while beautiful it does have some drawbacks. We like to keep it honest around here!

HELLO, OCTOBER!

The leaves are changing, the mums are showing off, and it’s officially time for all things FALL!

We’re OPEN TODAY & TOMORROW from 9 AM–4 PM!

Come grab a few pretty fall plants. This is our favorite time to plant shrubs and perennials while it's cool. They'll get the opportunity to strong roots before they show off in spring!

Make it easy! Order ahead at heritagehomesteadandnursery.com and pick up your plants at our “Plants to Grow” cart by the greenhouse.

A little calendar reminder:
We will NOT be open Saturday, October 10th.

🍂 And sadly, our growing season is already winding down…
