Many have asked how and when we know the Summer Kickoff has been a success. How do you measure that?

Here are some ways to know we are creating a green space that Leicester can be proud of and stand behind once more:

•Connecting with the community - lots of CONVERSATIONS are happening around how to use the park and ways our community can use the space respectfully and for the benefit of our residents:

🌱 How can we connect the Leicester Public Schools, clubs and educational opportunities to the park?
🌱How can more local scout groups utilize the park and also give back to the park over the course of the year and for generations to come?
🌱How can residents enjoy the park and help keep it from getting mismanaged again?
🌱 How can we accept fundraising money or donations to help with maintenance or improvements?

These CONVERSATIONS are happening. If you would like to be a part of the ACTION, please follow and message our page (which has grown by almost 100 follows this past month and we are close to 500 followers!) or send an email to [email protected]

We appreciate all of the communication, conversations, photos, interest and ways that we can bring the park back to life while also appreciating the open space, trails, beach front and wildlife.

One thing I've noticed while learning more about Burncoat Park is how many Leicester businesses and community organizations have quietly stepped up to help.

Donated equipment. Donated services. Professional expertise. Volunteer hours. Photography. Planning. Promotion. Problem solving.

The video below highlights a few of the people involved, but many others deserve credit as well.

Tomorrow's summer kick off is a great opportunity to visit Burncoat Park, meet some of the people working behind the scenes, and see one of Leicester's most unique public spaces for yourself.

As President of the Leicester Business Association, I'd like to thank all of the businesses, volunteers, and organizations helping move this effort forward.

I'll be sharing additional photos, videos, and thank-you posts over the coming weeks.
