I can finally share the news!!!

If you caught my last video of me walking into Walmart barefoot saying my feet were killing me, now you know why! 😂 Those fancy shoes were no joke!

Tonight, I got dressed up, had my hair and makeup done, and went to the 2026 Best of River Valley awards. And guess what?!

Cakes by Shelby JO was nominated… AND I WON BRONZE IN COOKIES! 🏆

Yep, you can officially call me an award-winning baker (small time, of course, lol)! 😂

But seriously, this means SO much to me. I went up against other small businesses, big-name bakeries, and corporate businesses that have been around for years. And here I am, a completely self-taught baker and decorator, baking out of my own kitchen and chasing a dream. I never imagined I’d bring home an award!

What a way to celebrate my birthday and the two-year anniversary of The Lavaca Shack! We got dressed up, enjoyed some amazing food, met wonderful people, and had a night to remember.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my little business over the years. Every order, share, recommendation, and kind word means more than you know. I wouldn’t be here without y’all!

Just a home baker with big dreams, and tonight, a little bronze award to prove those dreams are worth chasing. ❤️🍪

THANK YOU for being part of my journey!

Why yes… I did just go into Walmart barefoot to get cake boxes… Because my feet are KILLING me!
