As we wrap up our school year and the 2026 Pioneer Showdown we ask for some honest feedback regarding the swine show, the form takes no longer than 2 minutes and we would appreciate any feedback!

The 25th year of Pioneer Showdown is a huge success. We are eternally greatful to all of the exhibitors and their families that continue to show up to Pioneer Showdown year after year.

We would like to extend an extreme thank you to the sponsors who generously donate to the kids that show and help to make all of this possible.

Along with that we extend a heartfelt thank you to our members who VOLUNTEER their time into a year long culmination of hard work, we also cannot do it without our advisor Alicia, she is a driving force to this show and the Block and Bridle club.

We had over 420 hogs, over 170 lambs and 100 goats, which leads this year to be one of our best shows yet!

Due to unforeseen scheduling and circumstances we have a judge change for the hog show this weekend!

Mason Engnell currently works as an Assistant Manager of Nutrition & Mill Operations and the Lindner Show Feeds Ambassador for Dearwester Grain. Mason and his family own and operate Engnell Showpigs, a 25 sow show pig operation of primarily Crossbreds and Durocs in Good Hope, Illinois. He was apart of the 2018 National Champion Illinois State 4H team, where he was also the High Individual Overall. Mason was a member of both the Black Hawk East and Kansas State livestock judging teams. He then earned his master's degree in Feed Science from Kansas State University in December of 2024.
