To the person/people who decided it was a great idea to steal my pumpkin and smash it in the alleyway…
First of all, congratulations. You’ve officially reached a new level of October ridiculousness. 🎃👏
Somewhere between the candy corn and the Halloween spirit, you apparently decided that a pumpkin sitting outside a bakery was simply too tempting to leave alone. And then, instead of just taking it, you smashed it in the alley like you were auditioning for the world’s saddest horror movie.
Listen, I bake for a living. I work ridiculous hours. I pour my heart into this little business and try to bring a little happiness to our community, one loaf of bread and one ridiculously good cookie at a time.
And yes, sometimes that happiness comes in the form of a pumpkin sitting outside my shop.
I know it’s just a pumpkin. I know there are bigger problems in the world. But kindness is free, and apparently, so is being an absolute walnut.
I hope whatever you were looking for last night, you found it. Because all you left behind was a mess, a missing decoration, and one very unimpressed baker.
