This is Julie McDowell 's mother, Shirley.
It is with much sadness that I make this post. Ms. Owl has been having heart issues for some time that has caused extreme damage to her heart. Her doctor have told her she needs a heart transplant to remain on this earth very long. Due to her age she was denied a heart transplant. Her doctor is now saying that she has possibly about six months to a year left before she goes to her heavenly home.
She has two wishes regarding " her girls" ( all of her girl scouts that she had at any time in elementary, middle school or high school). Ms. Owl would love to see you at least one more time. She also would like you to attend her funeral. Ms. Owl has been making her end of life plans and she really wants to see you all. She loves each and every one of you. Julie and I had the privilege of seeing her in the past couple of weeks and she glows talking about all of you and girl scouts. I encourage you and your families to show her how much you care for her. Her address is 211 Johnson Drive, Lenoir City, TN 37771. She has asked Julie to plan at least one more girl scout get together this summer because she really wants to see all of you. I am asking you to please take time out of your busy schedules to see her again. She gave so much of her life to help our girls and to make scouts fun for them. Much love to you all.
