A Note from my Kitchen to Yours 🤍

To all my wonderful friends, neighbors, and supporters:

After a lot of reflection, I’ve made the tough decision to hang up my apron and officially close Savor the Spread.

As you might have noticed, our local community has seen an overwhelming explosion of home bakers recently! While it’s wonderful to see so much creativity, the cottage baker market in our town and other's has become incredibly crowded. Because of this, local markets are completely filled up for the year, and ingredient costs keep rising. Unfortunately, the math just doesn't add up anymore. The financial investment it takes to run this business is significantly more than what is coming back in, and it's no longer sustainable for me to keep going.

Baking from my home kitchen and helping you "Savor the Spread" at your birthdays, holidays, and weekend gatherings has been an absolute joy. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who ordered, left a sweet review, or told a friend about me. You made this journey so special.

Thank you for supporting my small home business. I’ll miss baking for you all! 💗

Back in February 2025 Michigan’s cottage food bill HB 4122 was the one a lot of home bakers were most excited about. Then in April, the bill was abandoned and written off as dead.😪

And then it came BACK!!

In just 2 days, HB 4122 was fast tracked through the Senate and House, which is almost unheard of for a cottage food bill, and it was signed by the governor on December 31st, 2025!!

Starting March 24th 2026, Michigan will:

• Allow online sales, in-state shipping, and third-party delivery. (with stipulations)

• Increase the sales cap from $25k to $50k, with inflation increases.

• Create a $75k cap for high priced items.

• Remove the home address label requirement!
(A big deal to a lot of people who did not like putting their home address on every product.)

Such a great way to end 2025 and start 2026 for the Michigan Cottage Food Buisness. 🫶🏼🥂🥳

Christmas was super busy in my house so extra late but a Merry Christmas to everyone I've met this past year. Also a very Happy New Year!

I'll be taking the month of January off to spend much needed self care and family time so you won't see me the rest of the month.

I'll be back in February just in time for Valentines Day! Lots off different baked goods and sweet treats coming for 2026 so be ready to indulge!! 🥰🍪🎂

This is my LAST MARKET OF THE 2025 SEASON!!!

I want to send a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support me this past Saturday Your enthusiasm and kindness mean the world, and I truly appreciate every one of you who stopped by.🥰

I will regrettably have to cancel my appearance at this Thursdays market due to my oven deciding it wanted to stop working. 😢

The necessary repairs won't be completed in time for me to bake and prepare the quality products you deserve for the event.

​I am working hard to get everything fixed and back up and running! I am optimistic that the oven will be fully operational in time for my next scheduled event on December 20th! Just enough time to get in your last minute shopping before Christmas!!🎄🎅🏼🥳
