Who else has jumped on the Ninja Creami wagon? What’s your favorite recipe? Any tips/tricks/hacks?
This is my 3rd attempt….1st one was a cinnamon ice cream that HOLY COW, burned 4 of 5 my senses…there is such a thing as too much cinnamon. 😂 And it was so long ago, I literally cannot remember what recipe I attempted to create. I’m pretty sure I summoned a demon or something with that one.
2nd attempt was chocolate and chocolate peanut butter flavors using hwc as the base. Learned real fast that I do not like ice cream with a slimy texture as it melts in your mouth. (Who knew that the blade spinning goes so fast it can turn hwc into butter? 😳😳😳)
And here we have this. This. Is. It. cottage cheese as a base. That’s the winner so far! I will have to try coconut…is it cream or milk, I can’t remember, but you get the gist.
Anyway - 1 cup of too good cottage cheese, fresh strawberries to the fill line, 1/4 cup of powdered, keto friendly, sweetener. Immersion blender to combine, then freeze overnight. Lite ice cream spin (after I added about a tablespoon of macadamia milk, then two respins. SUPER CREAMY! It melts fast, but that strawberry flavor is HERE for it.
I still had some strawberries left, so I made a second one with those, the juice and zest from one lemon, and 1/4 teaspoon of orange extract. Same instructions as above. That orange flavoring punches you in the face, and the tartness of the lemon comes right behind it with an upper cut. After that, the strawberry just slides right in on your tastebuds for a smooth finish. I decided to throw a few Bake Believe chocolate chips on top and they are quite literally, the (missing) cherry on the top. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
The best part? NO SEEDS survived the blade!!! (Seeds were ABSOLUTELY harmed in the making of this ice cream.)
I cannot wait to try other fruits, and make some sorbets too. ❤️❤️❤️
