Did you notice the difference!? ✨ While there are several small differences between these cookies, the main thing I was trying to show is how the order you flood a cookie—or how you section it off—can completely change the final appearance.

For those who guessed it correctly, you have a great eye! 👀 From the top view it’s much harder to spot, but from the side the difference becomes obvious.

🦄 Cookie #1 was flooded as a single layer with each color sectioned off where it belonged.

🦄 Cookie #2 was first flooded entirely in white, then the colorful mane was added on top once the base had crusted over.

Same design. Same colors. Two completely different decorating approaches!

I think both turned out great, but #2 is my personal favorite because of the added dimension and texture. Which one do you prefer— #1 or #2? Let me know in the comments! ✨

At first glance, can you tell what’s different between these two cookies? 👀🦄

Yes, the unicorn’s hair color is a little different on one, but that’s not what I’m talking about! There’s actually another major difference, and I find it completely fascinating.

One of the things I love about cookie decorating is that there are a million ways to create the same design. Even when the colors, theme, and overall look stay the same, the decorating process can be completely different and still lead to a beautiful final cookie.
