This is such a bittersweet moment for me. A childhood friend that I used to go skating with every single weekend when I lived in Kingsport messaged me and booked me for her wedding a whole year ago, back when I had just started doing cakes. The fact that she trusted me with such a special day has meant the absolute world to me.

I’m definitely giving myself a little pat on the back today because this was a BIG order and I did it! 🥹

I also have to thank my Mom because she is always there helping me and showing up for me. She helped me with the berry cheesecake desserts and also helped me set everything up. I truly appreciate her more than she knows.

This was such a special experience for me and one I will always remember. 🤍

I am truly beyond grateful for the gift God has given me when it comes to making cakes. 🥹🎂 People may think it’s just baking a cake, but custom cakes are so much more than that. It takes hours of planning, preparation, baking, decorating, fixing mistakes, cleaning, and sometimes starting over.

In just ONE year, I’ve learned so much simply by researching, practicing, making mistakes, and teaching myself along the way. I haven’t taken classes or had someone personally teach me just trial and error, determination, and refusing to give up.

I’ve spoken with amazing bakers who have shared that it took them many years to reach certain points in their journey, and that makes me even more grateful for how much I’ve accomplished in my first year🥹♥️. This isn’t about comparison because everyone’s journey is different.

Today, I’m simply choosing to celebrate ME. 👏🏽 I’m proud of my growth, proud of how far I’ve come, and thankful to God for the gift He placed in me… I still have so much to learn, but today I’m patting myself on the back. 💕🎂 - Tye’s Cakery
