I got to make wildflower themed cupcakes for my niece’s first birthday last weekend! (her momma Kamree nailed her smash cake!)

For anyone wanting a little pupdate:

Here is Gidget “supervising” your cookie orders from yesterday. 🤣 I promise I didn’t let her on the table, she was just checking on them, she swears.

Unfortunately, Gidget relapsed on Feb 17 and had to go back to KSU. She stayed in ICU again for 2 nights and came home a different pup. She is more tired and empty. She doesn’t have her puppy energy and doesn’t feel like playing. They say this can last months while she adjusts to her meds and her brain “calms down.” We have added more meds for a total of 6, and she takes them 4 times throughout the day.

I decided to take her for a second opinion with a specialist for peace of mind that I was doing everything I could to help her. This past week, Mom and I took her to a veterinary neurologist in Denver. Gidget had a good visit and we really like the doctor. We don’t know what the future holds but have a game plan moving forward so that we can hopefully handle whatever comes our way. Her doctor is optimistic she will respond to her medicine, her seizures will be controlled, and she will eventually be able to live a normal life again. The watching and waiting is so hard! I miss my pup.

Just wanted to thank you all again for supporting us! I have always baked as a hobby and you all have been so gracious to buy my cookies, but now my little side hustle has taken on new meaning as Gidget and I navigate this new journey. It’s heartbreaking and terrifying and I hold my breath a lot of the time, but the love and support of my cookie family helps more than you guys will ever know.
