A dear friend loves monkeys..the Evil Monkey from Family Guy in particular..and was the lead singer for CT local metal band Eyes of the Dead. So this was his surprise Happy 40th cake. As always, everything was edible!

Birthday Dinosaur cupcakes using a Frozen Buttercream Transfer technique.

Print your design (make sure it's reversed!)
Place printout on a flat item that will fit in your fridge or freezer.
Secure it with tape.
Cover the printout with parchment paper and secure with tape (painters tape works better!)
Trace the design with different colored buttercreams.
Chill until set.
Lightly frost your cake/cupcakes.
Place the set design on your cake/cupcakes.
Rub with your hand or a flat tool like a fondant smoother (hands are good here - the warmth helps to loosen the design from the paper)
Peel off the paper and
Voila!

There aren't many things better than fresh baked bread! These are ciabatta and poor man's brioche burger buns.

Some of my custom made cakes! The frosting on all my cakes is Italian buttercream. And EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS EDIBLE!! (Even better, the fondant characters/decorations can be saved forever!)

In order:

One of my all-time favorites, a Beetlejuice and Nightmare Before Christmas mash up cake. Designs followed by the finished cake and then a collage of the fondant characters - this was my first go at painting fondant (and Yes! That's Michael Keaton in buttercream!)

Next is a gorgeous Baby Shower cake with a toy animal theme. A collage of with the design I drew.

Third is another Baby Shower cake with Our Little Pumpkin at the theme. This was perhaps the most challenging cake to date. Those vines were tricky!

One of my more impressive cakes. Cartoons/characters from 90s TV & Film! (Can you name them all?) My favorite here is Max from Flight of the Nav1igator!

QAnd last but not least, a cake I made as one of my annual Pasqtry Challenge cakes - a replicàa of the puzzle box from Hellraiser! This beast was a 10"×10" cube of 22 layers and must've weighed close to 40 pounds! I smartly put a cake board half way down to essentially create two cakes in one. (The final photo is what I used to create a crunchy texture in that cake - toasted meringue with almond praline. Mmmm!)

The various breads I baked for the Scandinavian Butik - I had the absolute pleasure of heading up the kitchen during the Butik's incredibly busy holiday seasons for 3 years.
The last bread pictured here is the one I'm most proud of as I was tasked to develop the recipe and was extremely successful!
My 2nd year, the normal Limpa purveyor decided to stop selling that bread. With many many long time customers counting on our providing this delicious bread for their celebrations, I went to work!
I went through 6 or 8 variations of a family recipe of my mother's before perfecting it.
The ultimate trick/tip - brushing the risen leaves with a non-traditional egg wash: egg yolks and molasses!
My trick for coating these airy unbaked loaves without deflating them was to, instead of using a pastry brush, soak paper towels with the goo! Much softer and little to zero risk of popping the air from your perfectly shaped and risen breads.
