🐣 Lesson Learned: The Great Easter Meltdown 🫠
Is it just me, or did the Indiana weather decide to humble my baking skills over Easter? 😅
I thought my cake pop recipe was solid, but Easter taught me a very important lesson: if my dough can’t handle a mild spring day in the Midwest, it’s definitely not going to survive the summer heat! ☀️🔥
I took a small break and headed back to the lab (aka my kitchen) to perfect a hopefully heat-resistant dough recipe. We’re talking:
• Perfecting the binder-to-cake ratio ⚖️
• Testing structural integrity 🏗️
• Ensuring that “snap” stays snappy even when the humidity hits 💦
I’m determined to make sure these treats have standards, cause I sure do, and are delicious no matter what the thermometer says. While you can’t see the dough inside (forgot to photo) enjoy this graduation practice set. Inspo from another popper but it was too cute not to replicate. (Blank could be an edible image)
Who else has had a “baking fail” thanks to the weather? Tell me I’m not alone! 👇
