Well hey there, friends!
We’ve had quite a few new followers lately, so I figured it was the perfect time to properly introduce myself. I’m Whitney Johnston. I’m a wife to one good man, momma to two incredible children, and a full-time homeschool mom who believes childhood is meant to be lived slowly.
Around here, we’re learning to build a simpler life. We homeschool, tend our little homestead, grow what we can, preserve what we harvest, and are always looking for ways to become a little less dependent on the world around us and a little more self-reliant. It’s not about perfection, it’s about learning, growing, and creating a home that serves our family well.
You’ll usually find me in the garden with dirt under my fingernails, in the kitchen baking fresh bread, canning, or creating something from scratch, wandering through antique stores dreaming about the stories old treasures could tell, gathering eggs from our chickens and ducks, or simply soaking up the everyday moments with our children. Those ordinary days have become my favorite ones.
Our family was built through the incredible gift of adoption, and we’re trusting the Lord with whatever He has planned for our future.
Momma J’s Oven is simply an extension of our home, a place where homemade food, old-fashioned values, and the joy of gathering around the table come together. Around here you’ll find sourdough, homemade goodies, homeschooling, homesteading, gardening, preserving the harvest, and plenty of honest glimpses into our everyday life.
Thank you for being here and supporting our little family. Whether you’ve been following for years or just found us, I’m so thankful you’re here and hope you’ll stay awhile.
