Trung Thu (Mid-Autumn Festival) is coming home 🏮✨
When I was little, my lantern was the simple round one — đèn tròn xếp (my little folded round lantern), green and yellow paper, no lights. I would stare at the fancy cá chép giấy kiếng (red carp lantern made of shiny cellophane that glowed), dreaming one day I'd have one.
Today that little girl puts that same little fish, the yellow ông sao (star lantern) ⭐️, and her little round lantern on every box of bánh dứa & bánh mãng cầu xiêm (pineapple cakes & cherimoya-soursop cakes) from my kitchen.

Our Pineapple Cakes + Cherimoya-Soursop Cakes are ready for Trung Thu gifting. Handmade with love, wrapped in memory.

Bếp nhà mình lại ấm lên để chuẩn bị cho Rằm Tháng Giêng rồi đây! Với nhiều người Việt, ngày trăng tròn đầu tiên của năm mới này là một dịp quan trọng. Đây là thời điểm để con cháu trong gia đình sum họp, quây quần bên nhau và cùng sửa soạn một mâm cúng tươm tất để thành kính dâng lên ông bà tổ tiên. Mình rất vui khi những chiếc bánh dứa nhỏ (pineapple cakes) và bánh măng cầu (cherimoya cakes) này sẽ góp một phần làm cho mâm cúng gia tiên của nhà bạn thêm trọn vẹn và ấm cúng trong ngày tụ họp ý nghĩa này. Chân thành cảm ơn mọi người đã tin tưởng và ủng hộ và đặt bánh nhà mình!❤️

My kitchen is warming up again in preparation for Rằm Tháng Giêng (this year it’s on March 3rd)! For many Vietnamese people, this first full moon of the new year is an important occasion. It's a time for family members to gather and prepare a bountiful offering to respectfully present to their ancestors.
