Hello Everyone! It has been a while. I truly apologize. This year has been a bit busy at the senior dog sanctuary, Gracie's Dog Haven.

I am beginning to ramp up the season, starting with the MSU Arts and Crafts show next weekend. I will be in the same spot, booth 113, on the corner. If you wish to place your order now for pick up, please do so asap.

I do have a few new treats and can't wait to see everyone again!

Hey pet parents—winter’s here! A few quick tips to keep your dogs and cats safe, comfy, and entertained when the temps drop.

1) Paws & paws & paws
After walks, wipe paws and belly to remove salt/ice melt. Check between toes for redness, cracks, or ice balls—and consider booties or paw balm for sensitive feet.

2) Watch out for winter toxins
Antifreeze is extremely dangerous (even tiny amounts). Clean up driveway/garage spills immediately and keep bottles locked away.

3) Warmth without the worry
Give pets a draft-free sleeping spot with a cozy bed/blanket. If you use space heaters, keep them stable, cord-safe, and out of reach.

4) Indoor play = happier pets
Try a 5-minute “find it” game (hide treats), a puzzle feeder, or a quick trick-training session. For cats: wand toys + a few short play bursts daily work wonders.

5) Quick health check
Winter can mean dry skin and sneaky weight gain. Brush regularly, keep fresh water out, and go easy on treats—add a little extra play instead.

These conditions are life threatening for dogs and cats

Igloo houses are NOT warm.
Plastic shelters do not hold heat in extreme cold.

Dogs cannot be left outside without proper shelter.
During extreme cold, leaving a dog outdoors violates the law and can result in enforcement action.

If an animal is outside in this weather, they are in danger and it is illegal.

Animals must be brought indoors. Period.

HOW TO REPORT DOGS LEFT OUTSIDE

If the animal appears in immediate danger call 911

You are not being dramatic.

FYI....On December 24, 2025, the FDA announced that Consumers Supply Distributing, LLC is voluntarily recalling specific lots of bagged dog biscuits due to potential Salmonella contamination discovered during routine sampling. As of late December 2025, no pet or human illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.
