Seeing how nobody in this house is baking a strawberry rhubarb pie....especially in this weather, I’m making a strawberry rhubarb water kefir with a kick of ginger.

I’ll try to have it ready for the Ol’ Man for Father’s Day.

All of the proceeds from my most recent batch of kombucha are being donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund. The batch was started on May 25.

The pineapple ginger kombucha was exposed to the jazz and poetry of Gil Scott-Heron during bottling tonight.

Bill Withers led me to Marvin Gaye’s “Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)” tonight.

Proceeds from this batch, that was started on the day of George Floyd’s death, are going to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund. I added a donate button for those that want to show their support, but may not be able to access a bottle from this batch.

We don’t drink a lot of wine these days, but our wine glasses and champagne flutes are still getting some action.

Thanks to those that made sacrifices for the rest of us to be able to do our thing.

I could smell the mint while doing yardwork this weekend, so this Memorial Day batch of kombucha is going to be a sweet mint sour.
