On Saturday, December 3, 2022 at approximately 9:25 PM, the Marysville Police Division was called to the area of 326 E. 5th Street in Marysville in reference to the discharge of a firearm. Witnesses reported a male wearing a brown hat with blue lettering, black jacket and khaki pants discharged a firearm into the air during or following a dispute with another individual(s). The suspect fled the scene, south on foot. A search of the area by MPD, Union County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol did not locate the suspect. Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and it is believed he got into a vehicle and left the Marysville area, further attempts to locate him are underway. At this point, MPD does not believe there is a threat to the public. The investigation is continuing and charges will be forthcoming. We thank the Marysville community for their patience and assistance during this investigation.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone especially to those who can’t be with their families today.

Many law enforcement officers across the nation have a different table today and while they are used to sitting there their sacrifice is even greater today as they are away from their families and spending the holidays celebrating on different days.

Thank you to all law enforcement officers and their families. We appreciate you!

Good luck 171!

Good luck 171!

On Wednesday, August 10th, 28 year old Richmond Indiana Police Officer Seara Burton was shot in the head while conducting a traffic stop. She was rushed to the hospital and is listed in very critical condition. Today, August 13th, was supposed to be her wedding day. Instead, she’s fighting for her life in a hospital bed 40 miles away. This is what the war on police looks like. Pray for Seara and denounce all those who wish to defund and do harm to our men and women of law enforcement.

City of Fairburn Mourns Loss of Decorated Officer, Sgt. Jean-Harold Astree

The City of Fairburn mourns the loss of our beloved Sergeant Jean-Harold Astree. 54-year-old Sgt. Astree was involved in a fatal car crash today, July 28, 2022 in Douglas County, and passed as a
result of his injuries. He has been employed with the City of Fairburn since April 2018 and worked
with the City previously in 2011.

"The City is heartbroken due to the tragic loss of Sgt. Astree," said Mayor Mario B. Avery. "Today our City has lost a hero for public safety and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
We thank all the surrounding jurisdictions for stepping in to assist us during this difficult time."

Sgt. Astree was a decorated officer and a true hero who served the residents and businesses of
the City of Fairburn with pride. He also served our country and was a United States Air Force

"Our officers appreciate the support of the City of Fairburn and the community during this extraordinarily painful time," said Chief of Police James McCarthy. "We extend our deepest condolences to Sgt. Astree's family, friends, and fellow officers. We will do all that we can to
support them during this painful time.”

Sgt. Astree leaves behind a wife and children.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lorain Police Department (Ohio), and we are asking the sLorain Police Department One of their K9s was stabbed four times and is currently undergoing emergency surgery. Vote Schmenk For Commissioner on May 3! Chris will use her public & private experience to help Union County achieve quality growth that preserves our quality of life.

Director Pam Millhoan attended the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC). PELC students attend class one week each month for three months. During PELC, students are required to complete four writing assignments, six classroom presentations, read six books and twelve articles. A two page journal is required after each class detailing what the student learned from that day. The journal also includes an explanation on how he or she would implement what they learned back at their agency. The class covers topics such as Executive Role and Excellence in Management; Risk Management; Community; Leadership and Policing; Effective Written Communication; Ethics and Principles Based Leadership; Legal Leadership; Media Management; and Conflict Management. Director Millhoan successfully completed and graduated from the Police Executive Leadership College on April 1, 2022 in PELC Class#81.
Congratulations Director Millhoan!

Roses are red,

Don’t commit a crime
And we won’t arrest you

These posts are our nightmare. Yet, here we again making another one.

I do not know specific details yet, just that 3 officers were shot in Houston. Please, please pray that they pull through and pray for their department and families. 🙏

Please also pray for our nation that has skyrocketing crime and these targets against law enforcement.

Enough is enough!!!
