My daughter and I made gingerbread houses for a few years--and had a couple categbory winners! Two years ago I helped my young granddaughters happily and messily decorate their first house, made from a kit. I recommend this for good family memories.

Did you read "Der Struwwelpeter" in translation, as a child? Shaggy Peter has been a popular motif for Springerle molds since publication of Heinrich Hoffmann's children's book in 1845. The original Dennis the Menace!
