I made this cake to celebrate the birthdays of my two favorite men - my hubby and my grandson. Their birthdays were actually in March but we couldn’t find a time last month to get everyone together to celebrate. Top tier is my own version of cookies and cream with Oreo chocolate frosting. Bottom tier is caramel with vanilla frosting. If you zoom in on the right side of the top tier you can see the tire treads I made with fondant. I made this beach themed cake for a special young lady celebrating her birthday. Happy birthday Mady! The beach towels are edible fabric and made by me. The little boom box actually works. Please watch the video with the sound on so you can hear the birthday song I recorded especially for Mady. This was an Icing Smiles, Inc. cake. Icing Smiles is a national nonprofit. Volunteers with Icing Smiles make cakes and other treats for critically ill children and their siblings at no cost to the families. If you know a family that has been impacted by the critical illness of a child please share this with them so they can receive their own cakes. Also see the beautiful flowers the family gave me. That was super sweet of them. I’ve never received flowers from an Icing Smiles family before. This cake was so much fun to make! I had complete creative freedom to do whatever I wanted. Thank you Melissa Myers Onyett for letting me play with your order! Almost everything is edible. The cooler is marshmallow flavored chocolate; ice is rock candy. The bowl and spoon are banana flavored chocolate; the potato salad is fondant chunks in tapioca pudding; green sprinkles were added to resemble relish. The plates are banana flavored chocolate; burgers are fondant; deviled eggs are marshmallow flavored chocolate topped with banana flavored chocolate. The Doritos bags are sugar sheets; the chips are fondant. The cookie bag is a sugar sheet; cookies are actual cookies. The tablecloth is edible fabric. The ants are buttercream. I molded and made all of these items. The little soda bottles were purchased. The napkins are small corners of actual napkins. The flowers, butterflies, bees, and ladybugs are purchased royal icing decorations. Thank you Melissa for your order! I hope you have a very happy birthday!
