On Friday I was asked to make someone a White Christmas Pie for Saturday.
The pie was for his 80 year old grandmother, who I had the honor to make her 80th birthday cake
In November.
I had never heard of this pie, but I said I would try to make it for them. They even provided me with the recipe that is a family heirloom that has been handed down throughout the years. A family tradition that his grandmother has made every year.
I was informed that The pie was a HUGE success and the family really enjoyed it and was just like the ones she made.
He also told me that his grandmother has terminal cancer and he wanted to make this a very special memory and gift. He didn’t want to tell me this until afterwards because he didn’t want to put pressure on me on doing a last minute order.
Finding this out after making this pie and finding out it was a success really pulled at my heartstrings.
I am so happy that I was given this opportunity to make this special memory. This will be a memory I will never forget.
This is the reason I bake. To make special memories and to see the happiness and the joy the children have and even the adults when they receive their cake, pies Etc.
