Hello everyone, Hungry Farmer is looking for help again! If you are looking work, or know someone looking for extra money for the upcoming holidays, we have a part-time position that could also go to full time quickly. We are open 10am to 6pm daily, but closed on Sunday. We need someone with grill experience (or willing to learn), to cook 2-3 days weekly. As we are a counter-service restaurant, the duties would also include taking customer orders at the register, running out orders, cleaning/clearing tables, as needed. If a qualified candidate wants full-time hours, the potential exists to assist in our bakery making fresh breads, pies, etc. If interested, please stop by the restaurant, pick up an application, and ask to speak to Victoria (if she's there). Good morning folks,
We have lost another staff member, so once again we are in the market for help! If you have family members or know of anyone looking, please have them message us, or stop by the Shenandoah Market to fill out an application. We can use either one full timer, or fill the position with two part timers. Hours are great....10am to 6pm, and closed on Sundays, pay and tips are good, and the work environment is excellent. We are a counter-service restaurant so the pace is not nearly as hectic as full service locations. Thanks!

Hello all, we are now actively looking for a baker at the Hungry Farmer Cafe in the Shenandoah Heritage Market. We make all of our sandwich breads as well as pies, cookies, whoopie pies, and cakes. The hours are great, and it's a wonderful family-friendly environment. As a second option, we would consider hiring someone who was interested in cooking and helping with the front end of the restaurant, and that would free up my wife's time to do the baking herself. Hi Folks, Some time ago I posted about openings here at our restaurant, The Hungry Farmer, in the Shenandoah Heritage Market. I want to thank everyone who replied. Like most small restaurants, we are struggling to find quality help. Even with a nice work environment, great hours and pay, the candidate pool is non-existent. We have been scraping by with a drastically reduced staff, creating longer than expected waiting times. Coming through the winter months, we are now ramping up for the summer and fall months....our busiest time. So please, if you have a family member or relative that is looking for something, have them contact me, or call Victoria at the restaurant. We would be especially happy to find someone that wants to learn to work our small grill to make sandwiches, etc from the menu. Even with no experience, they can begin on the front register and train up. Also, if interested, they might be able to augment our current baking staff. It is a very, very laid back place to work and different from most restaurants. Sundays are always off, and our hours run 10am to 6pm, so no late nights or early mornings. It's counter service, so much less intensive than a full service restaurant, and pay(with tips) is quite good, ranging from $15-$20+ per hour. No prior experience is necessary. Folks, I just posted another desperate want ad for help at the restaurant. Victoria and I are at wit's end...It appears no one wants to work in the food business! We are nearly at the point where we may be closing for two days per week because we can't staff our business. Please let us know if you have any family or friends that might be looking. We will do all the training...we really just need folks with great, friendly personalities. We love our customers, and hope to keep serving you all as we struggle to deal with this staffing crisis!

We are in immediate need for a full or part time staff member. Work in the perfect family-oriented business with low stress, great hours, and great pay. We are looking for someone with personality and strong work ethic. We can train everything else. Job duties include taking orders at the front counter, delivering food to tables, clearing tables. As you grow in experience, we will also train you in food preparation and grill operations. Great hours as you have every Sunday off. We open at 10am and close at 7pm, so your evenings are free. Again, we need a mix of both full and part-time help. Salary is DOE, but generally with tips is $15-$18 per hour, and can be more on Saturdays. Hello everyone. As is the case with small businesses (and large) all over the country, we have been critically short on staff for a long time. We've managed to succeed because of our many customers' incredible patience with slightly longer wait times during busy periods. Unfortunately, we are losing another one of our awesome staff shortly. So we are actively looking for help. We would super appreciate it if you could pass this on to a friend or family member that might need a few extra dollars, and wouldn't mind working a few hours. At a minimum, we need a part-timer or two for helping out on our busiest days--Fridays and Saturdays. We can train, so no experience is necessary, but helpful if they have it. Thank you!!!!

Hello everyone. We are now critically short on staff, and may even be forced to close for some days of the week, as we are losing a full-time member of our very small, but awesome team. So we are actively looking for help. We have hours supporting a full time position and possibly two part timers. HF hours are 10am to 6pm, and we are open every day except Sunday. It's a great place to work with a very friendly, family atmosphere. Victoria and I have been blessed this past year with so many wonderful customers at the Hungry Farmer Cafe. Thank you all so much for spending your time and money with us! This past year, as well as the one before, has been incredibly difficult for the "mom and pop" restaurants like ours. It has only been through your continued patronage and patience that we have survived. We hope you are looking forward to the coming year with as much optimism and hope as we are! We continue to be so thankful for the patience of our many wonderful customers. As you know, small businesses are having a great deal of difficulty right now in hiring staff. We are no exception, and have been critically understaffed for some time. October begins our busiest three months of the year. And while we previously haven't had any problems hiring additional help, this season we have not even received a single application to consider. We know the wait times for orders can take a little longer, but we promise that the food will be just as good as always, and despite our staff being overloaded, they will give you all the very best service they can!

Lots of thanks to all the folks who have had such wonderful things to tell us about our food! We love our customers and really, really care about your experiences. Also thank you so much for hanging in there while we are short staffed. Yes, the wait can be a little longer, but it's still the same awesome food! Speaking of short on staff, if any of you have friends or family members needing work, please let them know we are hiring for part time positions! They can come in and grab an application, or if things are slow, ask for Victoria, and she may be able to interview on the spot!

Together we've weathered a very difficult period of time, and we hope that the worst is behind us! Meanwhile, as things are picking up, we're looking at hiring another staff member!!
