CHOOSE YOU. CHOOSE THEM.
I'm going to be vulnerable for a moment in hopes this helps someone else too.
About 10 days ago, I wrote in all caps. CHOOSE THEM at the top of my phone so when I open it, it's the first thing I see. Them in reference to my children.
See...the past 6-7 week have been some of the hardest, lowest days in the past decade for me. I internalized most of it, mostly smiled around others and tried to still do it all, but my mental health was not well.
In a moment of calmness, I chose to write the note in my phone as a reminder in the darkness to always choose my children. When it came to wanting a clean house, healthy meals, my business, work and anything else, it is always choose my children. What is the best for them. I am their mom and I have 1 chance to give them the best upbringing possible. This doesn't mean possessions, this means love, caring and learning.
Now that my husband is home from a 38 day deployment and I am feeling much more myself, I added CHOOSE YOU! I also need to choose myself, so I can be the best I can be to give them the best.
If you are struggling:
🔹️First and foremost ask for help (I did not do the best with this, so I understand it can be hard)
🔹️Focus on your little home
🔹️Pray
🔹️Do something for yourself, self care is so important
Things in the outside world shift, leave, come, change, etc, but those sweet faces in your home are the building blocks of your future. They need you and need you to also be well!
So for me, changes are coming. I'm not sure yet what those changes exactly look like, but it will be what allows me to CHOOSE THEM. CHOOSE ME.
If you made it this far, thank you. I hope this helps us all remember what is important.
