Look at this loaf showing off!!! She's beautiful and she knows it!!

This is our Freshly Milled Wheat Sourdough. Did I mention it's my favorite?!? It's 50% white and red wheat berries that I mill myself on my super cool stone mill. So it has the flavor and nutrients of the entire wheat berry. It also has our regular bread flour, so it's nice and fluffy too. If you haven't tried it, you most definitely should.

Our English Muffins make the absolute best sausage sandwich!! Add a few pickled onions and some microgreens from Greenlees Greens and it makes the perfect lunch for a busy dough day. Pick up a pack and see for yourself 😋

It's Muffin Day!!!! We are well stocked with Pumpkin and Blueberry muffins!! Along with all of the sourdough breads, bagels, English Muffins, and Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Hi, my name is Grace, I am a freshman at Ohio State this year! I am majoring in education. I started helping out in June of this year at the Marietta market. My family lives in Guysville on a farm not too far down the road from Kari! Going to the market has quickly become a highlight of my week, but I also love to read and watch scary movies. I’m so thankful to be a part of such a great company and community!

With so many new followers and new faces every market, I realized I have never made a formal introduction.

We are the Pennington Family!! There is me (Kari) and my husband Johnathan, and our 2 kiddos Noah and Karlee.

A little about us: Johanthan and I have been married 16 years and have been together since we were teenagers. We live in Guysville on our little 26 acre farm where we raise a few cows and chickens and our kids. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world!!

Simply Risen started a few years before anyone had ever heard of it when I went through some health issues. I learned that the best way to support feeling my best was to nourish my body with real food, and that quickly lead me to learn sourdough.

A few years later, after making sourdough for my family quite often, it came to me in a dream that I could turn this into something bigger. I'm so glad I listened to that dream!! 2 years after starting my "little bread business" I'm happy to say it has turned into a family business that all 4 of us play a part in.

We are extremely thankful to all of our customers who choose us to feed your families too!!

The Classic Sourdough Loaf. This is literally the backbone of our business. Simple and delicious, just flour, water, salt, and lots of time and patience. And our daughter wanted me to make sure to post that it is the "best bread ever"!!! Her favorite way to enjoy it is slathered in honey.

Happy Wednesday!!

We are mixing up your sourdough loaves for the Farmers Market and Kindred Market . We make the dough for all of our classic loaves on Wednesdays and it rests in a dedicated dough refrigerator to give it at least 48 hours of cold fermentation.

And I cant work without my 90s country soundtrack! I was so sad to hear about Dolly, some of you know my starter is named after her, so she will forever live on in my kitchen.
