This video was taken in the fall when the ladies were out on pasture near the Highway. It’s quite a sight for many to see these longhorns being moved on horseback and we often get people stopping to watch or take pictures. In an angus dominated cattle culture, our small herd of longhorns cause an inspiring pause. The color and the horns on these girls sure are a show stopper and offer a pleasing contrast to the local landscape. Just an FYI, we aren’t bashing angus. We raise them as well.

Longhorns are a sight to behold. People often stop to look at them when they’re pastured near the highway. They’ve become well known in our area, but very few people get the whole experience. They have their own flavor and we love it!

We raise both angus and longhorn cattle. We needed quite a bit of oxtail for a dinner with friends giving us the opportunity to compare as we opened several packages of each. Longhorn tend to have yellow fat. This tends to bother our butchers, because they aren’t used to it, but it bothers us not a lick. We know it’s healthy and it’s delicious!

We are so much more than beef! Beef is what we raise and beef is what we provide to Cloningers Markets, but our plant provides slaughter, cut and wrap for private parties who raise beef, pig, lamb, or goat. Maybe you bought an animal and need it processed. No matter what, we have both USDA and non-USDA processing options. Give us a call!
