I read a lot of books, well listen to a lot of books.

Here are 10 I’ve listened to recently-ish.

Which have you read?
Which intrigue you most?

Need support creating space for writing... yep me too. That's why I created Writer's Club almost a year ago!

It's simple. We connect on Zoom 9-9:15, share what we are working on (it can literally be any writing, super chill space, some people journal, some write emails, others writer creative works), 9:15-9:45 we write, then we connect after to share how it went.

It's free through 2026 for sure, and we meet 3-4 Friday's each month, next meeting is Friday Sept 25th.

Want to join! It's totally free! Just email me at [email protected], send a DM, or comment below and I will add you! :)

I talk about a lot of things: emotional/binge eating, creativity, play, self trust, creating work and lives that actually nourish us.

Here’s how it all connects.

I truly love what i do. Interested in learning more? Message or email me at [email protected]

No More Restrictions! 💥

Where is fear keeping you stuck?

There were so many great clips to choose from in this interview with Hannah Sullivan

Many therapists (and humans in general) let fear lead them.

Can I go to that restaurant that I love, but where a client works?
Can I attend that event?
Can I share my story openly on a podcast or documentary? What if a client hears it and gets upset?

The list goes on. Clearly, Hannah and I want to minimize restrictions for ourselves, ethically of course. 🙂

But I think this brings up a larger question about being authentic and human at work, and where systems cause us to unncessarily not do the things that would help us be the healthiest humans possible, and therefore the most effective in our jobs...

Something to think about...

Listen to the full episode wherever you get podcasts!

Ep 174: How Creativity and Movement Can Help You Heal Trauma and Rebuild Self-Trust with Hannah Sullivan

We cover self disclosure as therapists, dance and healing trauma, telling your story publically, and SO much more. Huge thank you to Hannah! More clips to come when I find the time to post them, lol.

Art is bipartisan.

There was so much about this convo with Hannah Berry I loved, but I think this part is still my favorite.

Art, especially dance and visual art is bipartisan. Human.

There’s tremendous opportunity here.

Link to the full convo in bio, check out the latest episode wherever you get podcasts and let Hannah and I know what it brought up for you. 🔥

This conversation with Hannah Berry of of was recorded back in May. And it was SO much fun.

Partly, I’ve just been busy. But when I sat down to edit and publish it, I also noticed a little perfectionism creeping in.

Shocking, I know. 😅

Hannah and I recorded in person at the beautiful studio in Grand Rapids, and the creative energy was flowing. This conversation is full of creativity, joy, and reminders of what becomes possible when we let ourselves make things, connect, and lead in our own authentic way.

So, for perhaps the millionth time, I’m reminding myself... and you:

Perfectionism kills creativity.
And joy.

Tune in to this episode of The Innovative Therapist wherever you listen to podcasts to hear our conversation about creative leadership, how it helps build thriving economic communities, and how it can heal us.

Then go take your next messy, imperfect creative action. And then let us know how it goes. ❤️

Huge thanks to Eric and Layah at for hosting us, and to Hannah for sharing this conversation with me. AND for connecting me with so many wonderful creative people since we recorded.
