Alright, Grand Prairie. This is it. Your final week to get Fo’ Real, Dough! baked goods forever. Now don’t forget, we’ll still be out on 8/13 for Hatch Chile Fest to say goodbye to everyone but we’ll only be out there for Untamed Roots Co that day. But the whole family will be out so you can say hi, bye, meet your favorite baker if you haven’t before, and see the little one (who’s not so little anymore) one last time before we head out.

Back to this week though. It’s our final bake and truly the end of an era. And we’ve whipped up a great menu to go out on. Here’s what’s up for grabs this week…

We would definitely recommend being there VERY, VERY early on Saturday if you’d like to ensure you get what you want. The last few weeks I’ve not been able to get things on the table fast enough and have literally been selling things out of the back of my truck. And with this being our final week I would anticipate more of the same.

Thank you for an AMAZING run, GP! We’ve loved every minute of it across the last 4+ years and look forward to seeing you guys this week and then at Hatch Chile Fest on 8/13 for our formal farewell. 🙂

Super fragrant and extra delicious… our Garlic Artisan bread will be back on the table this week! This is a crowd favorite for sure, and with good reason!

Also, just as a helpful hint… Best. Grilled Cheese. Ever.

Seriously.

And just a reminder for everyone, we only have three weeks left at the Grand Prairie Farmers Market and FRD Bakery will only have food at the next 2 market days before we close our doors for good in TX. Our final week there (Hatch Chile Fest) will only be goods from Untamed Roots Co (FB link) so you have this week and next week to get your fix of the best damn baked goods in GP! 🙂 But please know, if you’d like to continue to support our businesses even once we’re gone, Jessica | Untamed Roots Co | Laser Cut Accessories (IG link) goods ship anywhere in the country and we certainly hope to see lots of Grand Prairie addresses to ship back to once we’re gone!

It’s a limited menu this week as Jess had a treatment that was later than it should have been and we weren’t sure we were even going to be able to get a bake in. But we will be able to and we’re going old school this week and have a menu that’s all cookies. 👍

Well Grand Prairie, the time has come to formally announce the end of an era. Fo’ Real, Dough Bakery! will be permanently closing our doors in a month.

4 years ago we walked up to Ray who manages and told him we were interested in bringing the best cookies in GP out to the market. It was a sales pitch he’d heard countless times before but he happily obliged our request and we made plans to have our first week there 2 weeks later. We sold out our first week and proceeded to do it virtually every week afterward for 4 straight years. We had no idea what this would evolve into when we began but it’s been incredibly rewarding, equally fulfilling, and we love the hundreds upon hundreds of you who have become regulars with some of you even becoming friends. But the time has come to move on to the next chapter for our family and we’re leaving TX in just a few short weeks.

So that everyone has a chance to see us and get your “fix” a few last times before we go, here’s our proposed schedule for the next 4 weeks…

We will have the aforementioned best baked goods in GP and, of course, the amazing jewelry from Untamed Roots Co for the weekends of July 23rd, July 30th, and August 6th. Our final week will be the week of Hatch Chile Festival on August 13th but we will NOT have baked goods that weekend. It will strictly be items from Jessica | Untamed Roots Co | Laser Cut Accessories] that week but the whole family will be on deck to see everyone for one last time and say our goodbyes with any and all who would like to come by.

We can’t thank you enough for the hospitality, patronage, kindness, and an infinite amount of other positive adjectives you’ve shown us. And if there’s anything you’d like us to try and have on the menu for you one last time across our next 3 weeks please comment below and we’ll see what we can do for you. No promises we’ll be able to make them all but we’ll definitely do our best for all of you! Thanks again for the memories, Grand Prairie. You’ve been amazing to our family and we’re looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible across the next 4 weeks and making the most of our final bakes and time with you all! 🙂

Well, it’s a limited menu this week but we promise we’re going to make it worth your time. Only 6 items, 3 cookies and 3 breads, but they’re all big winners. AND!!! This week marks the return of our absolutely amazing Lemon Blueberry bread! 😃😃😃 It’s probably been at least 1.5 - 2 years since this has graced our menu. It’s Tuesday so you know what that means…it’s menu day!! 😃

Always a crowd favorite, we’ll be making our incredible Cranberry Walnut Sourdough this week. We’re also bringing something else back we haven’t made for 2 years… our amazingly delicious English Muffin loaf! It has all the “nooks and crannies” you’ve come to know and love from traditional English Muffins but with absolutely none of the garbage found in a grocery store version. Seriously, have you read the ingredients list on a package of those?? Yuck! Ours has 6 simple ingredients and, quite honestly, tastes even better than the store bought ones so you don’t even have to “learn to like them all over again.” Just slice, heat, and eat. It’s perfect.👌🏻 Full disclosure, we’re not looking to make too many of these so we strongly encourage you to write us and reserve yours if you’d like one.

We’ve been batting this one around for a while but we’re so excited to FINALLY introduce Coffee Cake to our menu!

This week is the second biggest event of the year for the Grand Prairie Farmers Market, the annual Crawfish Boil! 🦞🦞 Expect big crowds and the market is even extended an hour and will run from 8a-2pm. As such, we’ve got a rockstar menu for this week. Let’s go!

Mmmm, Snickerdoodles. 🤤 It’s going to be a bit of smaller menu this week but these will be on it as well as the return of our already famous, done from scratch Oatmeal Cream Pies! Two weeks ago when we introduced them, they sold out in preorders. Proooooobabaly a good idea to get yours in this week too.

And just because they were SO popular 2 weeks ago we’re thinking about expanding that product and doing different flavors. We already have 2 in mind, but we’re curious… what flavor modifications would you like to see done to the traditional Oatmeal Cream Pie? Comment below and let us know!
