What’s happening in Pakistan?
👉🏼 Catastrophic-level floods have affected 30 million people (approximately 1/3 of the country’s population) in Pakistan since June 2022. The Pakistani government has announced a national state-of-emergency. The floods have caused widespread death, displacement and damage. The current death toll is more than 1,000 people, including around 380 children.
Pakistan “consistently ranks among the top 10 most climate-vulnerable countries in the world — despite being responsible for less than 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions” (Globalcitizen.org).
How is Nums Yums going to help?
👉🏼 We’ll be having a cupcake sale to raise funds, preorder today for pickup this Saturday 9/3. 50% of sales and 100% of tips will go directly to Pakistani people who need food and shelter in my mom’s village, Larkana.
