It has been a bit since. I gave a Taz or a Kiz update. I've been busy trying to figure out Caly and her issues. Still looking for a good saddle fit for her and these two haven't gotten as much attention the last couple weeks.
So here they are. They have found their happy place together it seems. The last couple of weeks turning them out together seems to be the best match. Tazz and Brian Schaefer got a new saddle so we are hoping for a couple rides next week weather permitting. And hopefully Kiz can start getting tacked up and do some ground driving and more desensitization. I have been working with Kizmet on getting used to being pushed on from someone standing above her on a mounting blocm to prep her to have a chiropractic adjustment. I beleive the final thing to fix for her is either a subluxation somewhere in her lumbosacral or her SI joint area or a locked stifle. I am leaning toward the stifle. I am hoping thats the last piece of the puzzle.

2019 to 2021/2022. It looks different even now The barn is finished there's more grass the dead trees in the yard are gone, the fence is much improved. The crap pile isn't behind the barn anymore. Every year it improves

7 years ago I closed on this place. I knew it was going to be a ton of work. It's still in process but we're getting there. From just a house and lots of dying ash trees to a Wannabe Farm

Begin Again Horse Rescue has had an unprecedented number of intake emergencies this year causing us to be working over capacity all summer. This coupled with slow adoptions has our staff and resources stretched, preventing us from being able to accept new horses at this time. We hope this will improve soon so we can accept owner surrenders again by fall. We are putting names on a waiting list and can also help with safe rehoming assistance through our courtesy listings, seen by over 5000 of our supporters.

There are ways you can help!
1. Adopt! Contrary to what some may think, adopting from BAHR is not difficult or complicated. Well matched adopters get a horse or pony that is fully vetted with complete transparency of its special needs and abilities. When a horse is adopted, it open a space for another we can help.
2. Volunteer! There are many opportunities and leves of commitment from once a month to weekly shifts. Community outreach, fundraiser and activity planning, tack shop hours, are other ways to help.
3. Donate! BAHR is run completely on donations and fundraisers. There are no reliable grants or government funds offered to keep the horses fed or the vet bills paid. Every donation, even $5, adds up and helps us to keep providing the best care for every horse.
4. Share! Spread the word of all we do, support our events, follow our social media. Together we can do so much and we need an army of people who care like we do about horses in need!

I have not shared any updates lately of the case against Nugget killers. They have been through the arraignment process and the next court date is this Monday August 3rd. I will be in attendance. I am hoping they do not try to postpone it using her health or some other excise. It will have been exactly 6 months since he lost his life to these sick people
