My Story

I became a stay-at-

home parent in the spring of 2018. I dreamed of running my own business, but didn't know what that business would be. Many different ideas crossed my mind, but nothing fit 100%. I've always wanted to own a bakery, but it felt like such a fantasy and I never truly pursued it. I didn't mean to become a Cookier. All I was doing was organizing a fun night out for other stay-at-home moms decorating cookies. But then I saw how fun it was and how amazing the cookies looked that I just kept going. After joining a dozen cookie decorating groups on FB, I learned so much and joined an amazing community. I fell in love quickly and within a few weeks, I sold my first tray of cookies for a Halloween party in 2019. In January 2021 I finally applied to be a home processer in NY state and was approved! Emily's Cookies was born. So I am now mom to 2 beautiful babies during the day and cookie artist at night. For 2022, I will be stepping back from custom orders for events in order to be more flexible with family time. I'll be doing vendor markets, wholesaling at local shops, and having several holiday pre-sales through the fall. I plan to get back into decorating classes and hold bake sales for charities occasionally, too!

I made a new flavor for today's Mattydale Market ๐Ÿ˜‹ it's a lavender flavored cookie with lemon cookie pieces folded in with lavender flavored icing and edible glitter โœจ to make a fancy Lemon Lavender cookie ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿชป๐Ÿช

Made S'mores cookies last night as a test ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿช I'll have a dozen to sell this Saturday at the Mattydale Market (sorry forgot pics so here are some other cookies I've made ๐Ÿ˜†)

Tonight I'll be attempting Lemon Lavender ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿชป๐Ÿช and I gotta make the classic chocolate chip and I'm thinking mini m&m and sprinkle cookies too

I will also have some mini cookie decorating kits and homemade "dunk-a-roos" ๐Ÿ˜ I may not have time to decorate cookies to sell, but if you'd like some, let me know!!

Working full-time time for 1.5yrs, moving into my own apartment 1 year ago, adjusting to co-parenting, and navigating the end of a year long relationship 3mo ago...has been a lot for me to balance. I'll just say it.

I know everyone has their own stuff to carry in their lives. Mine has felt heavy for a while. But I'm hoping as I keep trudging forward, the load lightens and I can find a better balance between it all.

I'm honing in on projects I really feel connected to. If I have limited energy and time, I want to use it as efficiently as I can. Stay tuned....and see you next week!!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿช

I completely forgot to share these recently!

Although I am not always available for custom work, I can't resist helping out when someone needs it. A mom posted in a local group that 2 bakers had cancelled and she had 5 days to get cookies for her son's birthday. I happened to have the time, so I gladly took on the project, and I'm grateful I did, these were so fun to create! ๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฅณ
