I saw Mattie’s Shave Cave showing some love to The Apple House this morning, loving the idea, I suddenly thought, well I could join in too! a small business putting money right back into another small business and letting the community enjoy the result. 🩷

So Farmhouse Cakes added a few more donuts to the mix. 🍩

There’s a lot that goes into keeping a small business going, and I think it’s worth celebrating when we see businesses choosing to support each other instead of always competing with each other.

So if you stop by The Apple House and find out your donut has already been taken care of, enjoy that little bit of local love. ❤️

Tomatoes, herbs and eggs oh my!

If you’ve been waiting for fresh tomatoes, today is the day. We have LOTS, and they’ll be roadside until they’re gone!

🍅 Tomato boxes — about 1 lb. $5 each
🍅 Big slicing tomatoes — $2 each
🍅 2-lb. tomato bags — $8 each
🥚 A whole cooler FULL of fresh eggs
🎃 A couple fresh pumpkins
🌶️ Fresh jalapeños
🌿 Fresh-cut herbs — $2 a bunch

I just went out and snipped the herbs, so they don’t get much fresher than that!

Well… today’s farmer had a minor problem.

His scale broke. 🤣

A new one is on the way, but tomatoes wait for no scale. So he packaged them up, called them “a pound,” and sent them on over.

You guys… I think his eyeballs weigh a little heavy. 😂 Some of these bags might be pushing 2 pounds.

But I said $5, so $5 it is.

His loss. My loss. YOUR GAIN. 🍅

$5 a pound-ish 😂
