Glad Kanelbullens Dag! 🇸🇪

October 4th is Sweden’s Cinnamon Bun Day—a day dedicated to one of the country’s most beloved treats. First celebrated in 1999, it’s basically an official excuse to eat cinnamon buns. And we’re very much on board. 🤎

I’ve made both classic Swedish kanelbullar and a little bit of a trendy twist- milk bread maple cardamom sticky buns 🤤

The process really starts the night before with feeding the starter and putting some water in the fridge to chill. Then there’s plenty of little things from scaling ingredients, mixing, fermenting, dividing and shaping(about 7 hours) - before dough goes in the fridge for cold proofing (16 hours) before baking.

Needless to say- it’s not fast food 😆and it’s a labor of love 💕
