Three years ago today, Rigo got his visa, and we could finally begin our next chapter together in the U.S. 🇭🇳🇺🇸🤍

This photo holds almost five years of life in Honduras, packed into suitcases. Years of friendships, family, learning another language, and making a home in a place that will always be part of me.

It’s also where the name Gourmet Gringa began. For almost five years, I was “la gringa”—said with amor y cariño by the friends and family who welcomed me as their own. That name carries so many memories and a connection to Honduras that will always be part of our family’s culture. I love that it now starts conversations about our story and how we got here.

After graduating from college, moving abroad, and spending years working in education, I thought returning to the classroom here was where I belonged. But I wasn’t waking up excited for my days. I came home carrying stress and a constant feeling that there was still more work to do.

Rigo and I knew I needed to find something that brought me joy and gave me room to breathe, care for myself, and love what I was doing. And somehow, it always came back to baking. 🤍

The love for it was there. The confidence to believe we could build a living around it took longer. Could something I loved so much really become our future?

Little by little, you all have helped me believe it could.

Every order, market visit, recommendation, and conversation has helped build this little bakery and a life I’m so thankful to wake up to. Leaving the classroom was a leap, but this community has helped me find my footing.

We have so much we hope to grow into, and I can’t wait to share what’s ahead. Today, though, I’m taking a moment to appreciate where we started and everyone who has become part of the story.

This is what supporting local means to us: knowing the people, the journey, and the dreams behind what you bring home. Thank you for making Gourmet Gringa part of your lives. You’ve made such a difference in ours. 🍞🤍

We’re BACK with our online order and we will be at the King George Farmers' Market this Saturday, 8am to 12pm and better yet, it’s Community Day, so there’s even more to explore! 🍂 Our special loaf this week is Everything & Cheddar Sourdough, bringing two favorites together into one cheesy, everything-seasoned loaf. It was a big hit in our summer flights, so we’re bringing it back alongside all your usual favorites! 🥖

We’ll also have our weekly Friday drop-off at the Gardening G**s Farm Store, so you can grab your bread fix before the weekend. Plus behind the scenes, we’re working on some fun spooky-season treats for the Halloween Day market! We’ve missed you guys and can’t wait to see everyone, here’s hoping for a crisp fall morning together! 🧡

Your Friday bread fix is ready at the Gardening G**s Farm Store! 🍞🤎 Our sourdough loaves, Cheddar Bay biscuits, and cinnamon rolls are dropped off and ready to shop, alongside so many goodies—from homemade salsa and hummus to cheese, milk, and fresh local meats!

There’s no King George Farmers' Market this weekend, so we’re taking a little break and doing some home cookin’! 🍂 Stock up for your own cozy weekend, and catch us next weekend at the market!

To our loyal regulars and the new faces who braved today’s downpour—thank you! Days like this are when supporting local means the most. We put so much into getting ready for market, and seeing you show up with umbrellas and leave with bread makes it all worth it. 🤎

Today I was greeted with, “Grab some bread—we’re taking a picture for a promo!” 😂 They keep me on my toes, but it’s always a fun time at the Gardening G**s Farm! Going to the farm on Fridays with my bread has truly become a highlight of my week. 🤎

I’m so thankful for this partnership. Having another place to share my bread has been wonderful, but the people and connections have made it so special. Dragan and Kevin always greet me with smiles, laughter, and such a welcoming attitude. No matter how busy things are, they make time to share advice, offer encouragement, and make me feel supported. Their whole team brings that same warmth and kindness, which says so much about the people they are.

They’ve created such a fun, welcoming place where you feel comfortable and like you belong. I’m grateful for the connections they’ve helped me make and to have them as part of our community. Taking that leap of faith and getting to know them was one of the best decisions I made this year. Love these people and everything they’re building! 🥰
