A little business update š¤
My website is currently under maintenance while I make some changes to how Iām doing things going forward.
As of right now, Iām going to be cutting back to Tuesday and Saturday pickups, so Thursday pickups will be going away. For now, Iām also simplifying the menu to just sourdough, bagels, focaccia, and blondies.
Iāve been doing a lot of thinking and praying lately about what I can realistically handle in this season of life.
Iām a stay at home mom. My husband works full time. I have a very attached 9 month old boy and a very active 5 year old boy who Iām planning to homeschool soon. I think sometimes itās easy to look at a business like mine and think, āWell, just work while the baby naps.ā But that really isnāt how it works for us. Contact naps are pretty much the only naps that work for us right now, and even if he does sleep, I still have a 5 year old who needs me.
I used to mostly work at night once the oldest was asleep and our youngest could sleep on my husband, but with a 9 month old, sleep is unpredictable. And honestly, I donāt want every hour after my kids go to bed to be spent working. I need to rest too.
PSAā Iām NOT quitting bread. š I just need to find a routine that I can actually keep up with, without constantly feeling like Iām trying to squeeze 30 hours into a 24 hour day.
I started Knead for Christ because I wanted to share something I love while also sharing my love for Jesus with other people. That hasnāt changed. But my first ministry is still my family. If the business starts taking away from my ability to be the wife and mom Iām supposed to be, then something needs to change.
So, Iām slowing down a little. Simplifying things. Making the business fit into our life instead of trying to make our life fit around the business.
Iām sooo very grateful for everyone Iāve met who has ordered bread, talked about my bread to others, or just encouraged me since early 2024. This business means so much to me, and Iām grateful to keep doing it, just in a way that makes sense for this season. š¤
