Kids of Grace

Mission: to grow in understanding of ourselves, as the children of God, and to grow in understanding of others and God! Leadership: The best of both worlds! That is how Jenothy Rather describes her position as Pastor of Children's Ministries at Grace United Methodist Church. Her degree in Elementary Education and teaching experience, combined with being an ordained minister allows her to blend the two worlds she deeply loves. Working along side Pastor Jenothy are the members of the Children's Ministry Team, the church staff, and volunteers who continually strive to provide the best for any child who comes through our doors! Activities: Worship - Saturday Evening service 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Superchurch during all worship services. Sunday Morning worship at 9:00 and 11:00 with Sunday School, for all ages, in between at 10:00 and Superchurch at 9:00am and 11:00am. Wonderful Wednesday's Program Family Meal at 5:30pm. Kids Club from 6:15pm - 8:00 pm Adult Devotions 6:15pm - 7:00pm Adult Classes 7:00pm - 8:00pm Sprouts (grades 5 - 12) 6:30 - 8:00 Sprouts - meets weekly for Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday nights Ages: Superchurch is for children 4 yrs old through 2nd grade. Kids Club is for children 4 years old through 4th grade. Sprouts is for kids in 5th and 6th grade. What is That?! Explainations of various activities - Superchurch - takes place during our regular Sat. evening and Sunday morning worship services. Targets children ages 4 - 2nd grade and gives them a kid orientated worship and praise experience. Children learn what it means to worship God through age appropriate activities and lessons. Sunday School - takes place at 10:00 on sunday mornings and is a time of age appropriate instruction and education in Christian belief and the events of the bible. Helps kids learn, grow and develop an understanding of the bible, it's stories, characters and principles, as applied to their own life and current events or issues. Kid's Club - takes place once a week, during our Wonderful Wednesday program and begins with a family dinner at 5:30 p.m. and then children are dismissed for Kid's Club at 6:15. This is a time for children to learn about their faith, specific and seasonal topics (i.e. hope, trust, courage, advent, lent, pentacost, etc.), and socialize with other children, in a fun, safe, and engaging way. We play games, paint, draw, bake, create, read stories and study the bible! Sprouts - takes place during Sunday morning Sunday school and on Wednesday evening during our Wonderful Wednesday programing. Kids are encouraged to grow in their understanding of Jesus, their knowledge of the church, and in their social / relational skills with peers and family. They are also invited to participate in monthly "outings" for a variety of fun (putt putt golf, canoeing, laser tag, service projects, hiking, etc.) Wonderful Wednesdays - weekly family event where a meal is shared by the whole family and then younger children are dismissed for Kids Club, adults and youth stay for a brief devotion and then everyone is dismissed to attend a variety of classes, which they have previously signed up for (book studies, current events / issues, small group topics, bible study, etc.)
