Going through old family recipes that my Mom kept with my niece and nephew. Found some real gems, including my French Canadian Great Grandmothers cookbook. She owned a boarding house with her sister and hosted the men that built the Quabbin Reservoir. Her handwritten additions are amazing. And found my Mum’s pickle recipe!!! ♥️ Can’t wait to get in the kitchen when I get back to Colorado. You may see some new things in the shop this summer.

Hey folks! Starting this week we will be closed on Sundays and Mondays through Labor Day! This will give us a chance to focus on our farmer’s markets, enjoy the summer and give our full-time folks two days off in a row for summertime adventures. Tuesday through Friday we’ll still be open 8-4, and Saturdays the shop is open 8-1 and we’ll be at the Larimer County Farmers Market from 9-1. Can’t wait to see you all!

Great article on our friends in the valley growing rye with water conservation in mind. Jones Organic Farm is where we get the rye for our breads and pastries!

Rye uses less water than barley, potatoes, or alfalfa, other common crops in the San Luis Valley. A local group is helping farmers sell rye.
