Transparency post. Bristol was up several times last night because her second molars are coming in so I woke up this morning exhausted. I’ve been to the shop three times today, it’s now 8:30 PM and I’m leaving for the last time to run home and give Bristol her bath and get her in the bed. I have so many customers say to my employees “does Kara ever work anymore?“ What you don’t realize is that when you are an owner of a business, you literally have no days off. Even on vacation, I’m taking cake orders, answering emails, filling out event applications, answering work questions and managing issues at the shop. Being a stay at home mom with a toddler is a full-time job, running a business is a full-time job, and then trying to squeeze in a couple days a week at my vet hospital just for my own sanity makes my work week nonstop. Just because I am not present during our open shop hours, doesn’t mean I’m not working around the clock. I spend most of my time at the shop in the morning and in the evening before we open or after we close. So if you see me working late or you see me in the morning, my shop doors are always open so please pop in and say hi bc I miss all of your faces too! When you have tried so hard to have a baby, I absolutely want to put her first. I know she won’t always need me like she does now. Also can you just appreciate how hard it is trying to keep a toddler contained in our small shop? It’s nearly impossible! But don’t think for a minute I’m not giving you my 100%. For 13 years, I have put my blood, sweat and tears into getting my business where it is today. 8 employees, 1 brick and mortar, booking out events 6 months in advance & being booked with 4 or more events every weekend. Try your hardest to understand, I’m doing the best I can juggling mom life, boss life and vet tech life. ❤️ Kara xoxo

Paint Your Pet involves a professional artist hand-sketching your pet on the canvas ahead of time, then leading you through painting their portrait, step by step, during the experience.
Pet portraits are sketched at Paint Party HQ in Ocean City Maryalnd on Maryland's Coast!
