Gingerkakes Dairy Free Baked Goods; Made to order in home bakery. We can accommodate most food allergies. The culinary artisan behind GingerKakes is Jill Marlin.

Jill has been baking since the age of nine and has produced dairy-free goods for over twenty years. GingerKakes specializes in dairy-free* baked goods. In fact, all our baked goods are always dairy free*. It's a little place of heaven for those who, by choice or by necessity, need to keep dairy off the menu. We can accommodate your food allergy or intolerance by request! Our goods contain thoughtf

ully selected ingredients and are home-crafted. The result is delicious and satisfying baked goods. GingerKakes operates under Michigan’s Cottage Food Law. This law allows residents to prepare and store certain foods in a home kitchen. “Under the Cottage Food Law, non-potentially hazardous foods that do not require time and/or temperature control for safety can be produced in a home kitchen (the kitchen of the person's primary domestic residence) for direct sale to customers at farmers markets, farm markets, roadside stands or other direct markets. The products can't be sold to retail stores; restaurants; over the Internet; by mail order; or to wholesalers, brokers or other food distributors who resell foods.” Recent changes do now allow us to take orders over the phone but have to be delivered in person to the customer. Jill has completed the Cottage Food Law Food Safety Training and received a certificate. Cottage Food Law Food Safety training educates on preparing and selling foods under the Cottage Food Law, producing a safe food product, production, packaging and labeling, storing and transporting.

*Note: Some of the ingredients we use are listed by the manufacture as "Shared Equipment" or "May contain traces of". Please lets us know if this is of a concern. For additional information on Michigan's Cottage Food Law

RESCUE ALERT: We get asked questions about “expiration dates” a lot, but most of them don’t have anything to do with food safety. This quick guide breaks down what those labels actually mean and how long food is still good after the date. Save this post so you have it handy next time you’re deciding what stays and what goes.

I just started seeing the new bags recently in my area. Be sure to check the ingredients before purchasing as some of the “dairy” packages are still on the shelves.

Since this was first posted by FARE sesame has been added to the list, making it 9 foods. While these are the most common food allergens you can have an allergy to any food.

MYTH: Peanut is the most dangerous food allergy.

FACT: No single food allergy poses a greater threat than another. While only eight foods (milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish and shellfish) account for the vast majority of food allergies, virtually any food can cause an allergic reaction.

What are you allergic to?
