As many have probably noticed I haven’t posted on this account in months…. To be fair I’ve not done much in the last 13 weeks at all especially gather enough energy to bake a batch of cookies. Instead this winter is being spent baking a beautiful and healthy baby boy. If all goes according to plan I will be returning to farmers markets when they open in the spring, at least until I pop in June. I’m extra excited to have a new sales person for the following year. (I know if he’s anything like his daddy he’ll bring in lots of customers)

Of course if you have any events coming up and you know Franklin County Cookies would be the best addition to a treat table don’t hesitate to message I will do my best to make it happen and thank you in advance for having patience with this first time mama:

After taking a sneak peak at the newest menu in town I was inspired to try my first logo sugar cookie for The Copper Still . I’ll be the first to point out they are a little abstract, however as I always have to remind myself the only way to get better is to keep making cookies.

It’s finally October: the count-down to Halloween is on. While everyone is planning parties and gatherings, take time to consider reaching out to local bakers for your sweet treats with no tricks. Below I have posted my inspiration photos for this month. If you are interested in any of these or similar concepts please message and let’s make your dessert table stand out.

Halloween Royal-icing sugar cookies: with so many designs to choose from I’m always looking for my next challenge: All ideas welcome. ❤️

Jack & sally sugar cookies: these will still by my classic sugar cookies: however ‘sally’ will be colored, rolled in sugar, and ‘stitched’ back together. Perfect for a cozy night of watching the Nightmare Before Christmas 🩷💛🩵

Upgraded Chocolate Chip Cookies: these will again be the classic recipe only with added chocolate on top to make (bats, spiders, witches hats, ect.)

Everything but the candy bowl: if you are familiar with my ‘Candy Bar Cookie’ it’s that but Halloween themed. Customizable with your favorite Halloween candies. (M&ms, KitKat, snickers, peanut butter cups, literally whatever you would like)

It’s a sad day as a baker, I had to say goodbye to my most loyal coworker. At approximately 10:30 this morning while trying to make a fresh batch of Apple Cider Cinnamon Twists my stand mixer was found unresponsive. Despite the hard efforts of me and my father we have not been successful in revival. For the foreseeable future all treats will be 100% handmade and kneaded, the proceeds from Cinnamon Bites will be saved for a new work bestie. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated in the comments.

People have always asked me, “What’s your favorite part about baking?” And while I could list a dozen reasons I started this little hobby my hands down favorite thing on the job is getting to taste a new recipe, realizing my creativity paid off and being given a reminder to be proud of myself.
