A final glimpse of my “Costco bowls” cookies when they were all packaged up with a cheery ribbon. This set was just so fun to do, and the color palette was delightful. Thanks again to Kim L. for ordering these beauties!
Want to give a truly unique and meaningful gift?
Let me create a personalized cookie set representing the best things about someone you love! ❤️❤️
This set was commissioned for a Disney-loving paraprofessional educator and Wisconsin girl who is turning 50 years young — it was a delight to turn her life into delicious cookies! 🎉 🎂 🥳
Have a gorgeous autumn weekend, everyone!!
🌽 🎃
Here’s a timeline of meaningful years that I made out of cookies for my mom’s 70th, too! 🕰 🥰😘
Cookie decorating can be very meditative, and this set was maybe more meditative than some others.
These cookies were for 51 8th graders celebrating their 8th grade graduation. As I put each name on their cookie, I wondered about their life and what the next few years will look like for them. I wished them well and prayed that they will stay safe. 🖤💚🤍
In case you’re wondering what 2lbs (8 sticks) of browning butter looks and sounds like. 😜

See below for the backstory behind these cookies!
I couldn’t find any good laser tag music to go along with these cookies for a laser tag birthday party… but Happy Birthday, Juliette! And have fun at ShadowLand Laser Adventures today!
And on a bittersweet note, I want to say thank you and goodbye to the St. Peter family.. I’ve been fortunate to have my cookies included in several of their important family events. They are headed to their next post this week and I know the KPW community will miss you! Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸
Yesterday, I posted my very first “Summer Bucket List” cookie set — and it’s already been claimed!!
In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap:
A cookie bucket list features designs and themes that I would *love* to do, but no one has ever asked me for! 😝
The first person who claims each item on my bucket list gets that super creative and delicious dozen for $48, instead of the regular price of $60/dozen!!
Please tag a friend below, and DM, PM, or e-mail me if you’d like to claim today’s offer: A set of vintage bottle cap cookies!
The inspiration for this set is a jigsaw puzzle that I put together a few years ago. I love it so much that I glued it and hung it on the wall! Every time I pass it, I think to myself, “Man, those bottle caps would make fun cookies!”
So here’s our chance!!
🫵🏼What you get:
- 12 handmade pieces of delicious cookie art that will have you and your friends drooling, ooohing, and ahhhing!
- A big 25% discount on one-of-a-kind cookies!
☝🏻What I get:
- Creative freedom to design my chosen theme
- A chance to provide cookies to someone who might need a discounted rate for a special event
Stay tuned for more options on this summer’s cookie bucket list — all 25% off my custom price!!
13th birthday cookie platter
Every kid should feel special and loved at every birthday — and that big 1-3 is no exception!
Kate’s mom asked me to do a set for her 13th birthday, and gave me this description of her super cool daughter for inspiration:
“She is turning 13 and she is sooo kind and always worried about leaving someone out. Her number one love is musical theatre. She loves art (painting, especially), and soccer! She mostly wants a gift card to the Container Store for her birthday 😂 because she loves organizing and decorating things. She loves our little white cavachon dog named Lucy.”
The final product incorporated all of these aspects of Kate, making it one of my favorite sets that I ever designed! 😍
… Everyone’s cookie calendar is booked or booking up quickly now! 😬
This is my first year in business, so I’m learning along with many of you that there are certain times in the year when cookies are in high demand. 😳😳
I’ve had to turn away several people this past week who are looking for cookies right around now, and I know other local cookiers also have to do the same thing. Why???
💐 Mother’s Day
🍎 Teacher Appreciation Day/Week
👩🏽🎓Graduations
👰🏻 Bridal showers
✝️ First communions
Along with the usual birthdays, anniversaries, etc., this means that it might be harder to find local custom cookies in the coming weeks.
There’s a great local cookier community in NoVa and we try to refer business to each other if we can’t do it, but everyone is probably in the same boat right now.
That said — thank you for your support of local custom cookiers!! We look forward to helping make your special occasions just a little more special! ❤️
**If you’re looking for custom cookies in June, July, or August, please fill out the “Hold My Date!” form on my website. No obligation, but I’ll pencil you in on my calendar and will send you a reminder email 4-6 weeks in advance to see if you’re ready to order!
Does anyone else put stickers on their appliances??
Shine, Bunny Beans, shine!!
Last night, I was decorating these cute cookies and got a flash of inspiration for what to call them…
🐇BUNNY BEANS!
(I’m probably way more excited about this name than you are, but that’s OK.. 😂)
Each cookie is sprinkled with a deluxe mix that I picked up from Fran's Cake & Candy Supplies, and then airbrushed with pearlescent sheen to make them shine.
I’ll have about 20 sets for sale on Saturday, starting at 12pm in front of The Picket Fence. You can grab a bag of 3 for $8!
Our first pop-up was so much fun, we decided to do it again!!
Who: You
What: All kinds of Easter-themed cookies
When: Saturday, April 16 from 12-3pm
Where: In front of The Picket Fence in Burke, VA
Why: Because those Easter baskets aren’t gonna fill themselves! 🐇🧺🥚
Did somebunny say “Easter cookies”?! (Sorry… 🤣)
You’ve got 3 options to add to those Easter baskets this year:
- chocolate marshmallow fondant bunny cookies 🍫
- a basket of variety Easter cookies (6 or 12) 🧺
- paint your own Easter eggs 🥚 🥚 🎨
I’ll take orders via my website until April 8 (or until quantities are sold out) for delivery/pickup around April 15.
Thank you for supporting my small business! 💓
The Puzzle Club Getaway
Like many people, I went through a serious jigsaw puzzle phase during the early months of the pandemic. (In fact, I got a ton of awesome puzzles from The Picket Fence - check them out!).
So I was super thrilled to make a custom cookie puzzle for a local puzzle club! Every now and then, these lucky ladies get to spend a weekend away at this beautiful property surrounded by oak trees and farm land. 😍
This cookie puzzle joined them at their latest get-together… And they liked it so much that they ordered another cookie puzzle just for the owners of their getaway property!
And hey.. if anyone has room in their puzzle club, please invite me! I love puzzles and I’ll bring cookies. 😋🥳🤓😉 🧩
These babies will be up for silent auction on Saturday at the Red Dress Gala, hosted by GMU’s Alpha Phi sorority. The gala benefits women’s heart health! ♥️❤️♥️❤️
I’ve got a great new feature on my website — Hold My Date! 🗓
If you think you might want cookies for an event or special occasion in 2022, don’t wait until the last minute to start your planning! 🏃♂️
Head on over to https://www.faircitycookies.com/hold-my-date and fill out a quick form to get penciled in on my cookie calendar.
No payment, no commitment! 😅
The best part is that I will reach out to you 4-6 weeks ahead of your date to see if you want to go ahead and confirm the order. If not, no problem! But if you want to order, you’ll be first in line. 🤓
2021 in Cookies Q
One more post for 2021…
I started decorating in December 2020 and began getting reeeeally into it in January 2021. Check out this compilation if you’d like to see how my cookie designs progressed over 12 months!
And as always a shout-out to Fran's Cake & Candy Supplies where I got many, many of my supplies for many of these cookies! 🥰
Stenciling images on cookies
Three of my goals in 2021:
- Figure out how to make cookie stencils using my Cricut
- Decorate custom cookies using those stencils
- Learn how to make videos showing my process
I’m getting it in right under the wire today, just in time to surprise my nephew with his face on cookies when he arrives today from Illinois! 😂 My video production quality still needs a lot of work, but I’ll save that for next year.
Happy New Year to you and yours!! 🎉 🎊 🗓 🔔
A special THANK YOU and Merry Christmas to my customers who chose to include my cookie creations in their holiday celebrations and gift-giving! And thank you to the people who follow me and like my posts. Your support has been essential for my cookie biz. 🙏🏻
Next year, I plan to start prepping much, much earlier. Like, August. 🤣 🗓
And I am forever grateful to the cookie community on social media — they provide constant support, inspiration, and laughs!!
May you have Christmas cookie leftovers for breakfast all week long!! 🍪
I kinda wish decorating a real Christmas tree went as quickly as this 😂
My Christmas cookie samples are now (finally) getting done, which means you can start ordering now on my website! I will have a little bit of everything available for ordering, with free delivery within Fairfax City on select dates.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
A year ago, I never would’ve imagined that I would be providing edible place cards and gifts for people’s Thanksgiving tables. I had just started binge-watching the Christmas Cookie Challenge on Food Network and had no idea what royal icing really was.
But this past year found me learning a new hobby and set of skills, with friends, family, and strangers encouraging me along the way. I am so grateful that people have allowed me to be a small part of their celebrations and everyday events with my versions of edible art.
Thank you so much for taste-testing my cookies, following me, encouraging me, telling other people about me, and helping me to become a small business owner on the side!!
We have a winner for my first ever cookie giveaway! Laura will receive a set of Hanukkah cookies, just in time for the start of the holiday. 🥰 Thank you to @leeffx for nominating her!
Thank you to Alison, Jessica, and D-nice for your nominations as well.
Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate! 💙
