I am in the process of making this business official. “Sweet and Salter” will be a made-to-order cheesecake business here in Eufaula! Here are some things I’d like to share about me, my business plan and the reason behind starting this business!
✨About me: If you don’t already know me, my name is Hunter Salter. I was born and raised here in Eufaula. I have an amazing husband (Zach) and two precious children (Rowan & Ryles). I have been a teacher for 9+ years, but due to medical issues last year, I have decided to step-away for a bit. If you know me on a personal level, you were probably just as shocked as I was to discover that I could even bake. 😅 I casually attempted to bake a cheesecake at my house for my mother, and low & behold I was pretty good at it. I began experimenting with different flavors and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! My family has thoroughly enjoyed taste-testing, too! 😜
✨Rules & Regulations: Unfortunately, cheesecakes do not fall under food items that can be baked within the home under a Cottage Law License, so I have been working tirelessly to come up with a solution so that I can open this business. My plan is to rent a commercial kitchen here in town (I will share more on that once it is official 🤩). I will have a health inspection this week, so I could have a food permit & business license as early as next week! (Fingers crossed 🤞🏼)
✨Business Plan: Please know that I decided to step back from my career as an educator because of health reasons and wanting to be more involved with my children. With that being said, I’m limiting myself to only so many orders per week. If you have a date that you know you will want a cheesecake (even if it is a year away), please go ahead and let me know and I will put you down on my calendar 📅. Once my week is full, it is full. I hope to bake a few at a time, so don’t be afraid to reach out and ask if I have any available. I also plan to post what I have available when I do have extras. I will be baking for The Country Club every week, incorporating seasonal flavors, so be on the lookout for a slice of my cheesecake there as well!
