Reflection from the White Picket Farm LLC garden.
The struggles facing many today reminds me that many of us are just living with leftovers. The little money left over after the bills are paid; the mess and mud left behind when the water recedes; and saving the leftovers to stretch the food budget as far as you can. Sometimes it is about relationships and feeling like you only get the little bit of time that is left after everyone else’s needs or wants are met.
Today I was cleaning up the garden from the storms aftermath, the broken stems, faded petals, crooked blooms, and stripped leaves were heaped in a pile. But I started picking the ‘leftovers’ out of the pile and looked at how beautiful they were. I made these arrangements solely from the broken aftermath and the pile of trash. There is a lesson from these flowers just like many messages from the garden. God is in the business of creating masterpieces from leftovers. The pieces of our lives that feel too far gone for rescue can be used by God for his purpose. He makes beauty from the leftovers. He doesn’t need to make new and shiny, he values what remains of his creation. Nothing is a loss, failures and broken pieces of our lives are His specialty. Allow God to take the leftovers of your life and create a beautiful arrangement.
John 6:12, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted."
